Wow, just wow. This one is super...and your whole tank is looking really good and colorful now. I'm focusing on smooth skin and blue Acros right now, something like that one would check both categories!!!

Love the pictures and so enjoy wasting away the time as I stare bedazzled at your coral. Wanted to ask which lights do you take your pictures under (mh, t5's, LEDs or combination).

Everything is looking super as always, glad to see most things are recovering. What is the Efflo? in the second picture?

Thanks Matt - I noticed my alk is too low at about half of what it should be - got busy and haven't been testing so I hope the colors don't go south again.

Thank you for the compliment - pics are taken under all 3 types of lighting depending where in the tank I am shooting but most are under MH

Funny you asked about that efflo - I just lost it this week - I think due to the low alk although not 100% sure - it was fine one day and had RTN'd the next. Weird!

Sorry to hear that, it sucks to lose a nice piece. Hope things keep getting better.

tank is looking great!
Thanks for taking a look

You're right it is less than optimal for sure. That one was growing fast and almost 6 inches across.

Looking sweet as usual Greg!
I love the cross shot of the reef, shows all those beautiful colors mixed in with all them different growth patterns....
Beautiful work!
Cheers,

Thanks Perry - maybe one of these days my coral colors will get as good as yours

Blast from the past ----- Re-born

Blast from the past ----- Re-born

This piece is a frag I'm growing out again that was taken from another frag I saved from an old colony I used to have that I grew from a frag that came from a frag originally although indirectly from 250G - Dave Jelly AKA (Wicked Frags) back in 2008ish. I believe this piece is at least a 5th generation frag.

I'm a little confused on the lineage, :spin3: but that is a beautiful coral Greg. You certainly get the best out of all your acros!

Coral lineage tracking is very cool, and that coral is amazing Greg!

Thanks I wish I really could get the best out of all my acroporas because I still have a bunch of "under-performers" in my reef:o

Wow!!! That is fantastic!
Thanks Matt glad you like it.

Thanks Matt, It's kind of fun to know where it came from all these years later.

Nice! Dave Jelly had some really sweet pieces. I remember buying an Aussie fat tentacle gold Torch from him back in 2007 or 2008 when they were the new "in" thing and buy did I love that Torch. I lost it a couple years ago, but I can't remember what happened.

Sick piece Greg, I remember Dave, and he did have some crazy corals. That one is stunning indeed :) Keep posting photos, I love each and every new set you put on here!

Greg:

Nice pic and I also love the lineage. Are all the lighter sections growth tips or did you change something that led to lighter colors on the periphery?

Greg

Thanks Perry I appreciate you following along.

Thanks Greg. Actually the darker green base should eventually go pretty much the same color as the branches. It is just being stubborn and slow to color up.

Picked up a few new fish last week.
5x Blue Springeri Damsel (Chrysiptera springeri)
2x Black Leopard Wrasse (Macropharyngodon negrosensis)
1x Dusky Wrasse - Halichoeres marginatus (Sri)
1x Long Fin Fairy Wrasse (Cirrhilabrus Ribriventralis)
1x Melanurus Wrasse (Halichoeres melanurus)
40x Peppermint Shrimp

I am a bit concerned that the melanurus wrasse may have already been killed by my Christmas wrasse - it was relentless in it's attacks on the new guy and I found the remains of something stuck in a power head and since I haven't seen that fish for 2 days now I think it's toast. Too bad because it was gorgeous - had the brightest colors I've ever seen on that species. :eek2:
