A functioning paradigm: LR, barebottom, high-flow, skimmerless?

Hey all --

I'm up an running with a 20L, containing only a bunch of quality live rock and a hefty powerhead (Tunze Turbelle 7200 -- 632gph).

It seems to be doing well after a couple of weeks stocked (2 maroon clownfish and 2 BTAs); with 65W PC light, a little brown algae is growing.

Does this sound like a formula for success? I like the barebottom idea, I like the skimmerless idea, and I like the high-flow idea.

I've had success with a variety of other paradigms, including a 12g, LR/LS, 36W PC light and 100gph circulation supporting anemones/clownfish (grows a little algae but not terrible).

If it works for you go for it.

If you're going to go skimmerless be sure to stay on top of the waterchanges.

IMO going BB & skimmerless is not a good idea. you should have high flow (which you have) low in the tank to keep detritus suspended in the water so that it can be removed from the display via the overflow and removed from the system through heavy, wet skimming before it can breakdown. otherwise your fighting an uphill battle.
