A Great Way to ruin a perfect wall; My 400 Gallon Project

After picking up that rock by yourself, you might need to see a physiatrist. Oh, nevermind.

No Joke. My wrist was killing me after. I thought I tore my TFCC! I was lifting it awkwardly because my damn Sailfin had ripped the skin on my third digit down to my fat pad.

Marc: Real funny:rolleye1: I've got some snail oil for you.

The Vlamingi Tang is a MONSTER! He eats SOOOOO much. I have to be really careful not to over feed them!

Nathan, thanks for the link!!!!! I will read through it and decide on what I want.

GREAT:D !!!!

Before I added any fish, it stopped putting anything out. It would only collect foam after I would supplement. (Nice way to skim out your Mg  ), anyway, since I have added the fish, the thing is skims out about 2 cups of foam. The skimmate isn't wet either.

The only downside of any venturi skimmer is the amount of cleaning that is involved. But it works great!

I have a Trigger systems Skimmer. The company is here in Dallas.
It is a small company with great customer service. Contact them for specifics.

Great product:D .

I'm curious, but where did you buy all your plumbing parts at? ie true union ball valves? I'm looking for some but want to get the best price for them....

Hey LoneStarSA; I purchased the majority of the pluming from Savco in Columbus Ohio. Ok prices for schedule 80, but probably not the best. http://www.savko.com/

Anyway, I finally made it into the "my pockets are deep" TUNZE club; or I'm such an addict, I'll buy the Mercedes of pumps and eat Ramen noodles for 2-3 months to subsidize my habbit.

The deco rocks are truly "the bomb". Once they are encrusted with Coralline, they are awesome. Since the rocks/pumps need to come out of the tank periodically for maintainance, I am struggling on whot if any corals I'll be putting on them. If I get my M. Undata to grow bigger, maybe I'll put that on there. That would be cool, but I'd be paranoid about keeping it out of the water for too long.

Here is the pump in the rock

Not really a big deal, but at least it is an update.

I am likely going to switch out my lights soon so my corals start to color up more then they have under these damn 6500K. (Can't really complain about my growth rates!).

I am totally stoked about the Neptune AC3 that is being shipped. That will be my next adventure

:D

Thanks for the link. All I can say is Tunze ROCKS!!

I'm looking for the ball valves for a new skimmer I got, a Trigger Systems TS300! :) :) Going try my hand at making a custom sump for it.....

They do make great products!!!!

I have slowly been adding more and more SPS and my Dart closed loop needed a little boost. Right now, I'm only running the one TUNZE with a multicontroller (yah, now thats an oxymoron!!:p ), but may add more later. Surely to my propagation system that is in the works.

Good luck with the sump! I'm sure that you've seen this, but in case you haven't for some helpful hints and ideas, check out Marc's page with info on Sump DIY

Well, I'm off to contemplate some more...........
New lights vs Aqua controller, lights vs controller, lights vs controller

Hmmmmm

Ryan, didn't you get some frags at the Swap? No pictures of new corals? :sad1:

Congrats on your first Tunze. :D

How do you hid the wiring? on the Tunze? and what does the controller do for you? how many Tunze would you need for a 90?

OK i'm tired this morning... sorry for being lazy and not using the search button... Thanks for the help

Yeah, I'm going to mimic the sump for the 55 gallon tank.
http://www.melevsreef.com/55g/55sump.html

Its a good design, but I have not decided on mounting the skimmer inside or out of the sump.

What model skimmer do you have? Mine (TS300) has a barb fitting on the intake. I believe I saw a 90 degree pvc fitting on yours. Did you add that or ask for it when you had the skimmer made? It would be a lot easier if I had just a pvc fitting on there.....

Marc: I HATE my lights so much. Everytime I try to take pictures the corals look like hell so I haven't posted anything:( I am changing my lights in the next week or two!;) I picked up a Seriatopora guttatus (Green birdsnest). I went to Ricks and got a frag of that awesome Pink Milli!!!!!
:D  :D AWESOME. My buddy Matt is flying down tomorrow and bringing me some frags. He has about 6 colonies that he grew out from various frags that I gave him before I moved. I only wished I had given him my Acropora prostrata! Oh well. I can't wait. Did you get anything?

sawillia: I did the best to conceal the cords. I pulled it under the back of the deco rock and up along the overflow. Once I am able to put up my back drop, I don't think that it will show!?!

The controller now doesn't do anything for me! LOL. (Other than saving me money on a single controller) Actually, it gives me a moon light that emulates the actual cycle of the moon. That is pretty cool. Like I said, mutilcontroller with one pump=oxymoron

The search button ****es me off!!!!

LoneStarSA: My skimmer is the TS300. I added that during the plumming. I really like my skimmer! This is kind of off topic, but the DFWMAS is hosting four national speakers called next wave on Jan 28th

Jorge A Gomezjurado
Bob Fenner
Anthony Calfo
Julian Sprung

It would be more than worth the trip up here!!!! Anyway, if you do that, you are more than welcome to come by and check out the set up. By that time it should look pretty sweet!

being a premium member is Ike getting dsl or cable modem - it opens p a world of easy information because you can search to your heat's content

the search has never failed once for me since I became a paying customer - it more than pays for itself with getting answers....

jnb,
couldn't agree more!
I use this site so stinking much I felt guilty not helping support it.
Nice side benefit of the speed too!!

I agree jnb & pondfrog all the information I have found has probably saved me thousands and for 2 bucks a month....Deal! :)

The only reason you don't see the "I support RC" logo under my name is because I have a "Team RC" logo. Having the search engine working when I need it is ideal. Since I spend quite a bit of time on RC, I've actually had a it not work for me a number of times, but not enough for me to complain. I just use it later.

I posted pictures of my new frags in my 280g thread here, as well as the Frag Swap thread on DFWMAS.org

Not trying to sidetrack this post any further, but if I pay for a membership now, would it be pro rated for the remainder of this year plus next year?
