You'll spend more money than you wanted to, but the light displays are really impressive, and the look on a little kid's face when they see them is priceless. Santa is convincing too, you won't be disappointed.
We never made it :(

You have time :D I think they are "open" every night from now 'till the first week of January.

Ok - off topic as appropriate for this thread :

Whats wrong with my stove?

It's electric and the two larger elements wont come on (not a facncy glass top- just the normal elements). They each stopped working seperately over some time, and everything else works. I though the elements were bad, but I took the larger ones that I thought wouldnt work and plugged them into the smaller element spots - and they heated up fine. So it's not the elements. Anyone know stoves?
Are there fuses for each element? Or I read somewhere the sockets go bad?
I'm about to break out my meter and start seeing where the electricity isnt getting to, but just wondering if anyone has done this before and know whats usually wrong.

Check the contacts where the elements plug in to, they often rust or burn out, you can buy that part separately.

Yeah, I just did that. Broke out the meter and probed a working one and non working one - got 200+ volts on the good one, and only 15 on the bad one. And I probed it where the actual receptacle thing crimps onto the wires - so not a bad contact. Got to rip apart the top consol which is apparently where the element wires go to, them ohm out the wires and check the switches.

Doug,

You mechanical wizard... can you make a single probe that will instantaneously give readings for temperature, salinity, ammonia, nitrite, nitrate, phosphate, alkalinity, calcium, and the winner of the ninth race at Belmont Park, without requiring any calibration, and for under $50?

Doug I had the same problem it is the sockets. and or the wire connection to them ,( in my case the wire rotted out) I just brought the sockets they mount with two screws simple repair.

Lonnie, You're right that "BOY" is a regular "MacGyver":)

MacGyver = "an expert at making complicated machines out of ordinary things. A fan, a dough-scraper and some duct tape forms an excellent helicopter attack weapon. A cut credit card can help cause a traffic jam. A light bulb makes an outstanding set of lock picks..."

I dont think it's the sockets because I wasnt getting voltage there. I have to take open up the top part with the switches and measure there. I'll send an update later when I have a chance to figure out how to get it apart.

Ho hum life must be so interesting you guys are talking about stoves. A new low for the thread LOL

Ha - if that wer ethe case I'd be going out to dinner every night for the last 3 months- I've been making do with the two smaller elements only - about ime I got around to fixing them.
