Good info, getting any pill into proper suspension is really tough. I'm ready to try CP for the 1st time. A little LFS special ordered a Golden Semilarvatus BF and it has a case of crypto. I pick him up tomorrow.

Are white spots visible? I've been looking for a fish with visible Crypto symptoms, so that I can photograph and document the whole thing.

Yeah, he has plenty of spots, is in my QT now. I'll dose CP tomorrow, assuming he's eating---he acts like he'd eat right now. I'll post to your thread when I can. That thread has some great info.

My trigger is in qt dosed with cp at 80mg/g.It was covered pretty good with white spots.After 3 days into treatment no spots,and is still eating normal.

How do you test for chloroquine phosphate? I've been reading more about this, and it sounds intriguing. But, I'm a bit leery about putting something into my tank (even if it is a QT) without testing for it.

Unless you have a high performance liquid chromotagraphy machine I believe you are out of luck. Do you test for levels of antiobiotics or praziquantil?

No, but medications like prazi have been proven safe. CP is relatively new to the scene and difficult to acquire, unlike prazi or other antibiotics.

On my shelf there is a veterinary fish textbook, published in 1979 that discusses CP as a treatment for velvet at a dose of 40mg/gal. If you call that new, fine.
