and we got the tank! looks sweet. The stand is awesome. Sorry if I missed you, is the stand laminated or lacquered?

It's lacquered by spray paint then baked, semi-gloss finish, looks really cool :)

Looking great! I've been following along with v1, so I guess it makes sense for me to follow along with this one too! :)

Thanks!

Looking good. Cant wait to see this setup. Mine arrives on the 18th Dec. Wish me luck!

Cool stuff, everyone is getting a new tank for this year's christmas it seems :lmao:

Did you get the tank from Blue Harbour? Have you considered using the Japanese spotlights for the tank. I love those lights wish we can get these in South Africa.

Are you from Hongkong. Andrew is your neighbour.

Let see one more beautiful reef built in hongkong.

;)

Yes I'm from HK and Andrew is my "neighbour" so to speak, he doesn't live right next to me but we're living in the same town.

I've bumped into him when we were shopping at one of the LFS a few months ago, if you read his thread you'll see a photo showing dozens of SPS colonies on display. That's the LFS we usually shop at.

Nope I got it from the same vendor as Andrew did, and I'm not going to use spotlights, not a fan of those. I'll be using Maxspect LED, which is the same fixture I've been using on my current tank.

Check dorrypets.co.za - I think they carry some neat stuff in ZA.

WOW allready looks great!

Thanks! :)

After a whole weekend of hardwork, the new tank is up and running!

Some photos:

The tank is finally here!

It's done! Plumping and DT is set, all that's left is to put the stuff from the old tank back into it.

All the live sand from the old tank went back in, along with water from the old tank.

Took me a whole day, but I've everything back into the tank. My back aches!

Spend the next day setting up the rockworks, and setting everything else!

Dual MP10w ES in the side panel of the stand. Gotta love anti-sync mode.

I'm dead exhausted now, I'll post some new photos later.

Thanks guys, it'll still take a while before the tank will mature, I may have to switch to a more powerful lighting sytem as well (perhaps a G2-230w), but so far I'm pretty happy that everything comes together :)

Howard, you have an awesome tank there! Nice design and clever use of available space. We all know how expensive each sq ft of floor space is in HK. Love your rockscape too.

Thanks Simon :)

Yeah you know how little spaces we've got to operate around here, I was thinking of putting the tank elsewhere, but from the other photos you should know approximately the kinda living spaces we've got there.

We've about 500 sqft of usable living space in my apartment and it's already asking for HKD 3mil HKD (close to USD 400k).

Besides, I think the current position works out the best, I can sit on my sofa and watch both TV and my tank :D

Hi Marc :) Yeap I've met both Andrew and Lawrence in person, they're some nice fellas.

Now looking back, this is what I've designed:

Wow! If my math is right, your tank is occupying $4,000 USD of real estate. The floor space the tank is sitting on is worth more than the tank! This says all about how dedicated you are to this hobby!

Thanks for sharing your beautiful tank set up and showing your apartment. It always nice to see how fellow reefers enjoy their tank in their home.

Thanks!
