can you reccomend some changes?

This is absolutely brilliant, the set up is immaculate and your attention to detail is precise.

I truly enjoyed 3 1/2 hours of reading.

Congratulations, this has a lot of merit and is without a doubt a true Reef In The Sky.

Hi Andrew,
Looks like a really great choice. I'm excited to see that ya got it up n running :)
Ahhh you beat me...you got your SP's up n running before mine :D
The corals are truly looking great. But do take extreme care...intensity wise LEDs are powerful and the T5 illuminated corals should be light acclimatized slowly.
We need a FTS with the LEDs on :)
Thanks Noob... So far so good with no burnt tips. I now have the LEDs on full power and am very happy.

Andrew. So you are happy. Right?
One more set must be better.
Hi Ching!! Yes so far so good. How is yours going?
I am getting a new stand built for the unit which will raise the unit a little more.

Congratulations Andrew... That is one amazing LED fixture! Can't wait to see the video ; )
Thank you... you want a video of the LED unit?

Andrew: I am really impressed with the inclusion of the different LED's at the Violet/blue end of the spectrum. You should get some awesome colour and flourescent pop.

However, I would have liked a slightly higher level of output on the red end. It is most likely just fine; since I've never seen this unit.

I really like the look and specification of this LED unit. I am certain you will get as good or better colours. I think the inclusion of the 400, 420 and 450nm LED's will really pop those flourescent pigments.

But do let us know how your red and pink coloured SPS react over the coming weeks.

Thanks.
Hi Sahin and thank you. It has been one week today and so far I'm impressed. More pictures to follow.

i definitely like the blues and greens better with the led's! good work.
Thanks Curly

I literally just found this thread today and read almost every page and realized i just witnessed over a year and a halfs work documented with precision executed to perfection. I think I have to visit Hong Kong once in life. V1...Rotate, my man, you are kind of like a reef genius you know what I mean?
Thank you very much and glad you enjoyed!! Yes... you should visit Hong Kong. Great, exciting city!!

looks like the acan lights re-branded. Better color though...
Reef Noob is correct. Eco-Lamps are re branded Acan lights for the north American market. The SP model is not available yet.

Um it's the other way round....Eco Lamps is rebranded as Acan lightings. The full spectrum model is a new offering from Eco Lamps and currently available in Japan.
Thanks Noob!!

can you reccomend some changes?
Not sure if your question is for me but I'll give you my advice.
Maybe group x2 Blues together at the front and remove one of the Fiji Purple and replace with another blue.

I used the keep my Fiji Purple and KZ Coral Light New Generation next to each other.

I usually keep the old bulbs around so I can play around with combos. Then if I like what I see I'll buy new bulb(s) as required.

Hope that helps

Man, wonder how much this ECO Lamps KR93SP runs for, especially coming from Japan.
The price is on their website.

Coral Pictures: LEDs... Week 1

Well the lights have been up and running now for one week and so far so good. I haven't seen any ill-effects on the corals and I'm really enjoying the sunset on the reef.

You may notice the rock is missing from the right side. It had a number of weeds on it and it had to go. I'm hoping to get some more rock soon.

It is long over due, so.... enjoy

Wow Andrew!
Taking true to life colour photos of SPS under LEDs is not an easy task you have mastered one more skill....sweeeeet!!

Are you getting enough coverage from the light at the back of the tank? Those whites look really yellow too in the reflection shot are they that yellow to the eye

Looking good Andrew.

Got a few questions:

1. Have you measured PAR front to back? - I ask because with the fixture set low, I'd estimate that PAR around the centre below the light must be quite a bit higher?

2. When viewed in person, how does the red corals look? - Is the red colours as strong as before?

Many thanks.
