The sohals are in!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Since March 23rd, I have had the joy of acclimating my two Sohal Tangs together in one of my 75 gallon QT's. I can say that it has truly been a labor of love and that they have been my biggest challenge thus far.
I can't tell you how many times I needed to, or chose to, separate the Sohal's (
"Time-Out" if you will) with some egg-crate in the center of the tank. One would start to get too aggressive. For the last month though, they have been perfect together. Even sleeping together in the same piece of PVC.
So, after 4+ months, tonight I decided to introduce them into my main display. I am not quite sure why tonight of all nights and I decided to dispense with my normal protocol of putting them into the tank when the lights were out and into separate egg-crate boxes. I just scooped them up with a net and put them in right after one another.

The introduction went different than I expected. For whatever reason, I expected the Sohals to be the immediate "King of the Jungle" but that hasn't been the case at all. For an hour or so, they each were chased by some surprising fish. I was expecting my large Lopezi Tangs to go after them. Instead, it has been a much smaller Yellow Eye Kole Tang, a smaller Clown Tang and a Powder Blue that have been trying to flex their muscles.

The Sohals have pretty much been staying side to side together. One of them might get chased, but 10 seconds later it is with its friend or mate (too early to tell the sex). After a couple hours, the chasing seems to have diminished a ton.

Sorry for the crappy iPhone pictures. I need to get a good camera and until then, I need to have someone come out and shoot some good pics.
