A Reefaholic's 1000+ Gallon Mixed Reef System Build

Hybrid is using a combination of both hard and flex PVC. Where I can't get a good bend or no direct contact with a pump or bulkhead I use hard PVC. Everything else is attached with flexpvc.

Gotcha. I'm going to post pictures in a while but I got a good portion of the plumbing wrapped up today and am going to have to order a few more fittings. I forgot but BRS was out of stock on some elbows and I need a few of them. Going to pick up another valve to add to another location but prolly only have 1-2 hours of plumbing left after those come in!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Ended up working on plumbing for a while longer after the earlier post and gathering my list for a LAST order of plumbing supplies for a while I hope!

I'm sure you saw my fittings I had stacked up the other night, they are now just this!

Wow Justin!

You did such an incredible, professional looking job with your plumbing.

I can't tell you how impressed with it I am!

I use both flex and hard. Hard for feeding to tank and flex for returns to sump.

I like them both.

NICE plumbing btw.

Thanks Dan! Now if only BRS had the rest of the elbows I needed...Just ordered 50 foot of FlexPVC so guess I'll drop BRS an e-mail in morning to see when the elbows are due as I'd like to put the rest of the plumbing order through them rather than scattering it across multiple sites.

Guess I've got plenty of rock to tinker with in the mean time!

What.. I have 1" flex on the returns. Works wonderful and I can see if anything gets stuck in it. (Nothing has btw)

It give me the option to move the return to the center of the sump for some maintenance or what ever if I need to, also.

Beautiful job on the plumbing so far Dustin. Those pumps look like mini Zambonis on a bed of fresh ice under your stand. :D

Dustin that's a work of art!!!! I'm nominating you for TOTM even though the tank is still dry. This thing is a masterpiece! Great job!

Not sure I'm anywhere close to a TOTM dry! :lmao:

Plumbing looks great! Can't wait for the aquascape and pulling that big boy online!

You and me both. Got the rest of the plumbing ordered today and hopefully have the rest of it by Friday so I can wrap it up this weekend. Now working on design of filter sock holder, will post shortly?

After getting some normal chores done tonight ran to Lowes to get PVC for structures for the rock. Laid out grid and really need to think this one through tomorrow so I can start cutting!
