A Reefaholic's 1000+ Gallon Mixed Reef System Build

looking fantastic

Thanks David, great talking with you today and give me a ring anytime! After I blow my money in vegas in a few weeks I'll probably come back and get some tickets to MACNA for San Diego next year. Will be easy to swing that with wife so we can make a week out of it. Can always send her packing once the show starts too:)

Any issue you'd expect from the Vlamingi and the Blonde Naso? I REALLY want both and from what I've been researching they should be fine if the number is higher. In a few years though I won't feel right about keeping the Vlamingi in my tank and will probably reach out to Bill Wann, it's an excuse for me to make it back up to his tank and it's only four times the length, three times the height, and two and half times the depth from front to back:)

Come on, I know you are all opinionated:)

Anyone want to take a guess of how long it's been since I've done a water change?!? Take a guess, I'll share in a couple days!

Fish will be in tomorrow:) Ordered all of the above and in stock!!!

Water change guesses, keep em' coming! Currently phosphates are .03 and nitrates are .2.

Who knows?! :)

Just realized on invoice I accidentally ordered 2 male and 1 female blue jaws. Should I sell the second male or will they get along? They are already in transit:(

Posted this on a couple threads accross a couple forums, hopefully have some good solid answers. Was planning on designing a frag rack tonight, now I'm researching my mistake! Looks like what I've found you can have one male and multiple females, seems I might have screwed up the opposite of what I'd want.

Here!

Unfortunately the chevron, naso, and 4 pajamas were DOA:( Got that squared away but hate losing fish like that, makes me feel bad!

:sad1::sad1::sad1::sad1::sad1::sad1:

I ended up with a few DOAs which was a real bummer.

- 1 Naso (I WANT A PAIR, NOT A SINGLE!)
- 5 Pajama
- 1 Chevron
- 2 Cleaner Shrimp

I found a new home for the male trigger, but everyone else is doing fine. Just tucked away and hiding. All the fish minus the pair of triggers readily ate yesterday. In researching they can sometimes be finicky but I'll continue to try feeding frozen LRS soaked in Selcon/Garlic. If they don't eat Friday will pick up some live black worms and try to start off with those and start mixing in frozen/pellets so they get a taste for them. Right now I typically feed through the feeder three times throughout the day using Spectrum pellets and at night during the week feed frozen reef blend from LRS.

Are your mandarin's both a male\female pair? Males will usually fight unless they are in a big tank. Yours might be large enough.

I'll say that I'm a big fan of your aquascaping! Looks incredible! And your fish assemblage is going to be top notch as well. Congrats on a great system.
