A Splash of Color - My SPS Peninsula Reef

Thanks so much for taking the time to Anewer that question as now I understand my frustration. I hav been giving my Sps way to much light with my Leds that has cause bleaching.

So I will be lowering my intensity to give off 190 par to 220 par and see if my Sps can come close to what colors you are getting. I would have thought the complet oppesset for the blue acro more light but in this case this is s false statement. Wow I can't wait to adjust lighting and see how it goes.
By the way I am still feeding the Sps every 10 days and I'm hey are responding well to it.

I remember the days when Digis were everywhere! I am still surprised how hard it's been to find them. I currently have just about all species, though some will need proper identification to fully determine if they are actually Digis.

Biggles - Did you have to pay for your own repairs? :uhoh3:

I haven't hit anything since about 6 years ago when the flashing orange warning light that was mounted on a 3 ft high metal pole beside the seat rusted through and snapped clean off smashing me in the head. I whacked the side of a building with the bucket and soon after i further damaged the wall when i repeatedly struck it with the warning light and its pole........... i had a major tantrum that day and i didn't miss the fact that the 'safety' device was what actually cut my head open :angryfire:

I would say that about 80% of my acros are in medium light Michael. The T5's are there to ensure i still have medium light levels out wide and to negate any shading related pigment loss from the Radiums.
The lower the light level you can keep an acro in and still be happy with its growth and colors the more saturated those colors will be in many cases i've found. I'm not particularly interested in winning any awards for crazy fast growth, all i care about are the colors i can keep and as long as the acros are growing at least slowly i'm a pretty happy camper.
I'm glad your acros are going well mate with the feeding, the more food your system can process the better. I hope to hear positive news with the lighting change my friend :)

Hmmm, really?!?!. I'm a little worried now:worried:. They were going to try and get me one. Montipora Digitata is what I'm after, so they were going to get one in just for me, but knowing the ozzy SPS identification saga, who knows what I'll get:lol:.

Here's what I want: http://www.liveaquaria.com/product/prod_display.cfm?c=597+322+473&pcatid=473

Rory, have you lost your mind? :hmm5: Why would you want a stupid Monticrappa Digicrappy? Over here we cant even give that stuff away for free...no one wants it... With all the amazing Aussie Acros you guys have...you want a Monti??? :headwally:

you always want what you cant have right.

Well said Ryan, it's very much like Sahin and colorful acros............ the only difference is Rory will actually have a monti one day.........:p

You mess with the bull, you get the horns boys............:smokin:

I tried to show you in this video how little rock there is in one of the islands and how i have everything extending out from the rocks so as to give the impression of a small acro bommie sprouting out of the sand. Once everything grows in you'll be hard pressed to see any rock whatsoever on that particular outcrop :)

Biggles I loved your old tank thread and have been following along with this one for quite a while. Your old tank and this one are both the kind of tanks I dream to have one day. Amazing colors and attention to detail and placement. Awesome stuff for sure, just figured I would finally chime in with something!

Sahin, you got Bushwacked!!

And what exactly is your view on Rory's decision to get a digi Marty........... feel free to speak honestly.........

Thanks very much for the kind words my friend, i appreciate you taking the time to drop in and say hello :)
Is that your dog in your avvy, i need details and bigger pics please...... i love dachshund's.

It looks very open and free. I do like the way it looks as it shows that less in some cases is actually a lot more. By the way I lowered my intensity to see what my Sps look like in 30 days

Great videos Andrew, I always look forward to the videos ....

but why is it the next video queued up for me is Diversity & Inclusion "“ Love Has No Labels?

Are they trying to tell me something about my viewing habits, or yours? Next video after that is how to clean a grotech doser. :uhoh3:

So in the spirit of diversity and inclusion ... I love Montipora digitata, so the monti haters can go pound sand. :)

Awesome videos Biggles! You definitely achieved your goal of making the scape look like little bommies sprouting out from the sand. Will look incredible once those corals grow into big colonies!

thanks mate for the videos, let me know: under the corals there's a big rock and then you glue little rock&coral above the big rock, is it right? In this case at first I've to find some big rocks to place in the bottom and then go up with corals

Have I lost my mind? Mate that's not even a question..... Its a fact:lol:. I just want something that is hard for me to kill as my confidence in my ability to keep SPS alive took quite a blow when I lost the last ones:(. But once I regain my confidence I'll try some different and harder stuff:).

I agree :headwally:

You may bang your head but one day I'll keep 'proper' SPS:D

Haha lol, either that mate or I don't get my Monti or colorful acros
