A Splash of Color

So...the DeathStar is fully operational I see. Darth Acro has been busy indeed...along with Senator Dompatine.

However, on the flipside I see that the rebellion remains strong and under the command of MattbenKenobi the other threads are fighting back with some stunning colours on the acro front.

The Galactic Battle isnt over Darth Acro and Senator Dompatine! Sahin Skywalker shall be commencing the build of a new source of light...pure...bright...starlike...

that´s why i love the Acro Wars threads!! :strooper:

Everything is looking so great Andrew! I was using both the Brightwell Replenish and their Kōralle-VM. I swapped them back and forth a bunch of times and felt that the Kōralle-VM worked better in my tank. Despite reading the ingredients many times I seemed to have missed that Replenish has Lanthanum chloride in it. Now I wonder if that is the reason I had better success with the Koralle-VM. FWIW I think that the main ingredients that make both of those successful is the Zinc, Iron, Manganese combo.

Thanks for helping me Biggles and your pic of the Corals is close in color but the tank is a little bluer. I set the apex to 5k lighting at 70%. And took some pics for you to play with. I have a build thread but it's on a Maast site and not sure how to share. But tank runs np active pearl bio pellets and also run gfo both in reactors. O nit and same for phos. Alk is 8 and cal 460, mag 1400. I feed a lot I feed aquavitro fuel one time a week. I have just started koral color and replenish

Let me know if you can work with these pics. I should also add I run 4-t5 for 4 hrs a day and they are 8" off the water. Temp 80 to 81
Ph 8.4 to 8.5
Thank you

Hey Nick, i would avoid anything with tissue loss that didn't look like transport damage without being able to examine them in person. If i had a quarantine acro tank though i would grab what i wanted and nuke them with bug poison and make sure they are ok for sure. Don't put dodgy stuff in with your healthy corals is my advice no matter how cheap or pretty they are mate. ;)

Thanks for the advice Andrew! Your tank is looking incredible as always!

By the ramblings on this thread I would say crack cocaine. Crack is in the syringe

Crack is smoked. And as Whitney Houston once said, "Crack is Whack." And I think we all agree, she would know.

That's obviously Biggles Juice/liquid Preparation H.

I keep seeing reports of kids in AUS playing with that stuff....It's highly addictive. The addiction starts off innocently enough....but by the time their injecting BJ/LPH, it's full blown and just tragic.

AUS....Land where everything wants to kill you and kids are shooting BJ/LPH into their bums......

Hey Mark, this whole ' floater ' issue has been covered before but i'm going to go over the science of matrix floaters and why you should NEVER keep them.

Back when people got stuff done they used to test if you were a witch by throwing you in a lake all tied up so you couldn't swim. They knew just as we do that witches are made of wood. If you sank and didn't come to the surface ever again you were obviously not made of wood so innocent - YAY !

But.......... if you somehow managed to stay afloat and not drown it was pretty clear you were made of wood and a witch. In these cases they dried you off and then burned you at the stake - NOT YAY !

I don't want anyone taking their floaters out and trying to burn them as we aren't living in the bloody dark ages but the actual science behind witch detection works very well when applied to reefing imho. :reading:

Don't use the floaters is the lesson in all this. ;)

It's the regular matrix mate. To calculate if you have the right amount of matrix for your system you simply make two stacks of 2L containers and put your carbon container on top. If it reaches the bottom of your tank or higher you are spot on, i just checked mine and i pretty much aced it when i guessed i needed about 16L or 1L per 10gal overall system water volume. :smokin:

Biggle Matrix Coefficient - gallons divided by liters of matrix.

BMC should be 1.00 or lower - and NO WE DON'T COUNT THE FLOATERS. :hammer:

150 divided by 16L = 0.93 ;)

Since listing my fish the other day i realised the jumpers had lowered mt BFC drastically. 1.28

After adding 12 yellow striped cardinals my BFC is a more respectable 2.14

Love it!!!
Arcane equations, witches and bigglesjuice..
Andrew, I'm calling you Merlin from now on.
Darth Merlin..

Hey Dom, you know there's a 40x24x18" sitting here if you want to really have some fun - new 400W ballast and 400W dragon breath bulb and 2 x twin 3ft T5 units sitting either side of your 2ft halide/T5 unit angled inwards about 15 degrees - how easy is that...........
You're the worst (best ;) ) :lolspin: you definitely make a convincing case on upgrading haha the extra room would be glorious!! :eek1:

Until the 19th century, it was commonly thought that imitation was the sincerest form of flattery. Since this time, other methods of flattery have come into practice that are arguably more sincere.

The problem with finding the sincerest form of flattery is that flattery by definition is insincere. So something has to have just the right amount of sincerity to be sincere, but not be sincere enough to not be insincere, and therefore not be considered flattery.

I think Andrew was sent by the Reef god's. If you have a problem, Andrew knows ... He alway's knows... :fun4:

As always. Always a good thread to catch up on, Every page is already laughter!

Hey Bob, it's like a three ring circus around here sometimes isn't mate.........:wildone:

the rebel alliance is sending in reinforcement troups

A couple of days after Dom visited the Empire came into possession of the opposite color pattern - threat neautralised and coloring up to be a rebel journal busting acro bomb......... :strooper:

It's that glowy aqua blue all over and almost impossible for me to photograph without the glare confusing the phone camera and the brightest parts blowing out but it's very pretty in person.

So sorry, no harm was meant to the reefing gods, let me simplify and say Imitation is the sincerest form of flattery.
Yes , Andrews photo formula inspired me to do a copy cat photo.
To confirm I never had a problem , only took inspiration!!!

I think Bob meant if you have a reefing problem i will either know the answer or make a credible one up Nils............

Everytime I see that piece I get a little jelly. Need some reds for my tank and that would look amazing as a center piece

It's quite eye catching in real life mate :)
