Hey ho guys, i have to go to work but i'm knocking off early since it's Friday morning here and i'll continue discussing what i'm sure most of you think is a load of rubbish given some of the replies.

How many of you are aware of the scientific study examining the effects of slightly elevated levels of manganese chloride in an iron limited environment on cyano, how the effects are most pronounced the lower the alk of the water. How manganese is oxidised very fast by the UV/blue light spectrum so you need daily dosing to keep any useable amounts in your water for any useful time period.
I am certain that once you become aware of the circumstances that both assist manganese to work its magic and prevent it from being effective that you will all look at zeo, AF with a new found perspective and won't be wondering why these methods give some amazing results and others see bugger all good from trying it.

I can see that most of you still think i'm messing around and just stirring you about dosing one solution which is fair enough as i mess around a lot.

Gfo leeches iron so i don't use it or my daily dose would not be as effective. I run my alk at 7.0 because manganese is most effective in acidic conditions and when i rose alk to 8.5 a few weeks ago my colors began losing their new pop.
I run the same parameters that zeo and AF suggest, i would happily use any of their 'phosphate removers' but i won't use gfo.

The more i tell you about the number of things that can stop my dose working the more you will see what i mean about helping you to avoid the 'miss' and get a direct 'hit' out of your zeo, AF etc or any other water keeping method. They work 100% and i urge anyone contemplating AF to do it and follow Matt and Perry's guides.
This is not about ruining anything for anyone in the hobby, i simply believe that we have all been overlooking something for a long time - nothing more.

If you were told that red cyano in your system anywhere meant you needed to dose more coral B i bet you would think ' cool that's easy to visibly monitor with no testing '

If you knew you should adjust your coral B to the correct dose and then base all your other dosing around that it might make managing the bloody jungle of this and that you are trying to manage daily easier.

Those were just examples btw so don't anyone get the AF poops

I have to say though, given I'm doing the very similar thing with a little less matrix lol the results speak for themselves! I'm not getting quite the polished colour from my acro's but that's due to the lack of the extra filtration! The simple once a day dosing with nothing else though.. that seems to be spot on in my tank too so I reckon you're onto something here lol and I have to agree with all the above info too

Dave was serving a customer and had Mark stop me from seeing the acros until Dave was present to see my reaction lol - there was much swearing and hysterical laughing on my part as they both expected to see when he showed me what you left behind.

I only go looking at acros when Dave lets me know a shipment from Sustainable Reefs in Cairns is coming. There is a very big difference in what is collected by different businesses and Christian is like a white pointer sniffing blood from miles away when it comes to finding precious stunners.

The only way i can say thank you to the guy who supplies all my acros is to point out to you overseas guys that you already have access to 3rd and 4th gen frags cultivated by the same guy that supplied 80% of the acros in my display. The last lot were too ridiculous for words and Dom scored a bunch of beauties which he posted pics of tonight

I thought i told you guys already what i dose each morning along with keeping the conditions i talked about.

I dose 2ml of Salifert trace hard and 0.5ml of koral color each morning along with 2 drops of brightwell Lugols. Feed the fish and skim with carbon and heaps of matrix, no water changes since last year.

Let's just go back to thinking i have some secret element i dose and pretend i never said a thing please lol. Sooner or later i'll lose it just like i told you would happen Dom lol............:deadhorse1:
