ABS for drain?

i did a search and most say it's not toxic for aquariums and some say it gets broken down by UV.

I want to use ABS for my drains which is under my tank so i dont think i have to worry about UV.

The fittings at home depot for ABS are soooo much better than pvc, the 90's are smoother and there are bigger pipes.

Any info would be great, i want to settle this matter before i start using it on my new tank. Thanks

John, just be sure to use ABS glue and not PVC glue if your gluing it together. You can also get those smooth sweeps in PVC from McMaster Carr.

man, my plumbing is finally coming together.
All i need now is a 2" slip true union ball valve. Anyone got one lying around?

Lowe's carries a white pvc version that is much cheaper than true union. It has a union on one side with a standard slip on the other. The 2" is about $15 and 1-1/2" around $12.
As Sharkdude pointed out, I use ABS extensively throughout my drain system. I've also installed it on many a client's systems as well.
