AC Jr. Saves my bacon!

I'm down in Disney and wake up the first morning and check out the parameters of both of my tanks....and my Solana temp had dropped from the normal 76-77 to 73.5!!! Luckily my good buddy Randy O was able to stop by and check things out, my wife set our house temp down to 50... and my 150 watt heater just couldn't keep up once the lights went out. A big thanks to Randy for stopping by and checkin on things. Just goes to show knowledge is power... anyone considering a controller should make sure it has internet access, that extra $100 can pay for itself quickly. My AC Jr. Just paid for itself as far as I'm concerned!

AC Jr next on my list. Big props to you for getting one and to the AC Jr and Randy O for coming through. Good to hear tales of positive outcomes. :)

Pays to have good equipment and good friends - the latter being the most important.:fish2::thumbsup:

Re: AC Jr. Saves my bacon!

i have one and also have remote access to x10 modules that allow me certain thing to be controlled. great tool

The AC Jr's with the serial port can be hooked up to a computer, from there you can download a program that will connect it to the internet. Jerry Sy (doughboy on RC) wrote a seperate 3rd party program called AC Serial to Web (google it). Its a pretty good program and he walks you thru setting it up, its not as easy as an AC3 but it gives you the same access in the end.

I just ordered the Apex so I'll see how that is since I already lost enough in the past on my business trips and my wife doesn't know what to do or look for if anything happens anyways.

My goal si to try to get all the testing onine more than the typical temp, Ph, Orp. I hope to add salinity, calcium,Alk if there's really a way...
