I cut this frag off my colony for a local friend. Amazing how these polyps are so big and bright. One of my favorites for sure.

Can I ask with your current bulbs, what par you have at the level of the acans? If you don't know, well then what is the distance from your bulbs to the acan?

I don't know current par readings but a couple years ago when I borrowed a par meter it was from 90ish upwards to 180.

I use 4 ati blue plus, 1 kz purple, 1 ati actinic

Thanks. I'm using the same setup...and they've(the acans) come a long way in the last 30 days, but no where near as vivid, so Im thinking that the par is too high.

Thanks for your response!

All delight, you have the most unbelievable acan collection ive seen. I too am an sps addict who has just recently gotten bitten by the acan bug. My favorite of my acans are theseImageUploadedByTapatalk1392792280.123510.jpg. They had a bit of green just outside of the yellow ring when I bought them two months ago but have since lost it. Im not sure what to do to bring it back they are on the sand under a 6x54watt T5 ho aquaticlife fixture with all geisemann bulbs at about 18k spectrum and 24 inches below the bulbs. I also have an acan that I got for 5 dollars because it was basically dead at my lfs. It was a bare skeleton with literally a pencil line thickness of flesh poking out so I took a chance. It has been about 6 months and it is still not a fully round polyp, a bit oval slightly mishapen, but fluffy and healthy! The thing is, its literally two tones of blue all the way through the polyp with a smal thin ring of yellow. Ive never seen an all blue acan before im going to try and get a good pic of it and post it up!
