Acclimating a mexican turbo snail

Warm the bag by floating, then slow drip to change the parameters (dump the water out a couple of times if necessary). That's pretty much applicable to nearly everything in the hobby.

I don't typically bother, but I know some place the snails above the water line (don't place them on a salt buildup or anything), and let them gradually lower themselves into the water at their own discretion.

The same, usual acclimation by placing bag in the tank for equalizing temperatures and adding every few minutes small amount of tank water. Put in the tank within 15 min. Worked for me several times.

I prefer zebra turbo snail, or Belize turbo snail. It seems to be more durable/hardy. If usual mexican turbos die time from time, even after year in the tank, zebra turbo lives already for almost 3 years.

Downsides: it grows big, 2" or so, and works mainly at night time.

Reefs.org had article on mortality of the turbo snails, but I don't have a link right now.
