Acronics sps Peninsula

no i didnt post a photo of it. I dont know why i wrote echinata, I wish I had one. Im still learning the crazy names. Im actually in debate as to if its some aussie deep water acro or acropora aculeus. ill post a pic of the frag in question.

Another interesting one I am looking forward to is the last one in post #2. its too small to tell just yet but i believe its a red planet.

I see....aussie echinata is one Im after as well. The last pic in post #2 could possibly be red planet but the coralites look more rounded....it will be hard to tell till it grows some though. Good luck.

Nice tank and set up. It will look great when it grows in. I see some ORA sps in there for sure. Good luck when you move the tank. I have done it to many times. But everything turns out fine in the end, and you get new frags as a bonus for all the work lol.

not a red planet, looks like green granulosa to me. red planet has milli appearance as far as coralites go...imo...

Pic #7 up above looks like it might be your RP, showing some green in the body with red in the new growth. And I agree, that last pic you posted appears to be a granulosa. Might be the ORA Phil's granulosa but who knows.

LOL nuggets, i like that better than frags. Thanks alot. I love peninsulas, its like having twice the tank to place corals and such. Maintaning its alot easier aswell.

It's twice the tank to place corals but it's also twice the windows to keep clean.:D

I love the aquascaping. I think it is very functional and looks very good. You will be able to keep a whole range of different corals being that you can put corals up high or down low as well as some good swimming room. I think some clams would look good down in the valley area.

dvanacker; the coralites are whats keeping me in question, thanks for the confirmation. Keep me posted if you find an echinata, I fill fly to toronto to get a frag the day you tell me.

allsps40; thanks for the luck, I hope it goes well. Heaving enough growth to make frags in 5 months would be perfect. I want to give some frags to local tanks in the event something goes wrong during the move Ill have the chance to rebuild.

pyle02; thanks for the ID of the granulosa. The frag i think could be a red planet is this one. I really cant tell yet though its way too small and recovering well from tissue necrosis.

oceanman79; that appears to me as a regular mille it has more of a gold hue in person. However the color is really changing in that peice, especially in the new encrusting growth.

Reefs mac; I would always keep the back glass clean, at least try to but i would always end up damaging corals so this peninsula is easier to me. but you are right, there is alot of glass to clean.

JamesJR; thanks for the compliment! I put alot of planning into this build, just sad that its temporary. There are soo many options for coral placement in regards to flow and lighting. I think the clams wouldnt far as good as they could on the bottom of the tank with the T5 lighting.

I guess ill try and showcase some of the fish and overall system tonight stay posted!

Again Thanks to all who have taken the time to comment and help me with my work!

THANKS
Kevin

earlier I said that my bellus angel was nipping one of my acros, that was not the case. It was my monster emerald crab. He must have decided he liked coral instead of algea. Thats a 25 cent piece, about the same size as an american one.

it has another 4 and a half months to grow before it gets moved. Im hoping for a good size mini colony

its been 8 days since the growth comparison shot and it has now covered the whole plug and starting to shoot branches. Ill try for a pic tomorow. Also added a hectars goby! so cool Ive never had a sand sifting goby and its wicked cool.

well the frags are starting to color up real well. Getting nice light tones with rich blues and purples.

Thanks, THe plan is to have branching SPS at the top, Table acros in the middle and Azoo corals under the tables.

So I have a GHL 4 pump doser and have only ever used 3 (eccept when I had it doing auto water changes) What would you suggest I use the 4th for?
