Acronics sps Peninsula

Thanks for the compliment and the congrats Anup. Im looking forward to some nice coral photo shoots over the winter

That should not be a problem on the 7D at that price, assuming you are going body only. You can probably get a used one with a kit lens at that price actually.

I meant with a kit lens and maybe a nice case or bag for less than 1400 :) but I bet ill end up with the 60D and macro

A full frame would be nice but cost too much and Im super newb at photography so I doubt ill really notice

The bag part might be a bit tricky... bags are over-rated IMO! A nice strap and you can walk around with it, stick it in a backpack, put it in a Pelican case or drybag for canoe trips, etc. Even when I had my Canon Rebel, I rarely used the bag it came with.

Doing a quick Kijiji search in London, currently there are 7D's advertised for as low as $1,000 (body only, 6 months old). I'm sure you could get one at that price in your area. That would leave you $400 given your budget - buy a used Tamron 90 mm for that price (or Canon 100 mm if you can find it), or get a nice all around zoom lens with IS for the same amount. You can always get a nifty fifty (50 mm prime) at a cheap price ($100 to $150) for general purpose use in addition to a macro lens. Anyhow, with your budget or therabouts, I think you could get an amazing setup. The 7D has great video on it as well, part of the reason I went that route, being a new father and all.

hmm that sounds like a good deal, 7d with a 90mm and a nifty 50 (lol) for 1500ish. I like the sounds of that.

What does IS mean?

Your sps seem to be colouring up really well under the LEDs. Good luck! Look forward to more photos.

Image Stabilization... lenses that have that feature will generally be sharper due to less shake (for hand held anyway).

Time to kick back and watch these sticks grow!!! Phase one complete (sps corals). Phase two will consist of NPS additions but that is a ways down the road yet :) Patience young grasshopper.

Not a bad 1000th post if you ask me?

Looks great...i like the new aquascape. The pic of the limade is awesome. The white balance on that shot seems a little better than the rest. Actually looking at it again it seems you used flash for that shot. Did you get your new camera yet or what you using?

You can actually break the tips off those frag plugs to mount flush pretty easy with some bone cutters or even gardening shears....did you use gel glue and epoxy to mount those?
