Acronics sps Peninsula

Thank you everyone! We are over joyed today. My bro took me golfing at the fancy club today to celebrate. Ive never payed that much to golf before but wow this place is nice. Even the carts had interactive GPS and can tell you how far the tee shot was or the distance to the pin. Luxury golfing is even more expensive than our reef hobby!

Its 230am here and im sitting in the waiting room of a 24h emergency vet because my poor gunner has sallowed something he shouldnt have and is vomiting and dry heaving. Poor fella just got out of xrays and is walking sideways hes so drugged up. I feel bad but im laughing! He got the all clear! Whew. There were bits of a rubber nylabone type toy in his vomit so i guess he got it all out thank god had me worried there. Never a dull moment round here l8ly. I wouldnt mind things to calm down so i can watch my sticks grow though haha.

First congrats on your pending nuptials but this begs a question.... did you get her a diamond goby for the tank? lol...Have a great marriage!

Thank you. good one! never even thought of that. I highly doubt I will be adding a diamond goby though.

I will have an update in the next few days. Everything is looking good and on a good track for some killer growth. So far this set-up just feels right so I am excited to really get cracking.

So I came home to this mysterious temp drop, still havent figured out how it dropped so much. Today it is back in range at 79.5.

The candle light acro took the worst of it and lost its green tips and paled a bit. It was just starting to color nice. Sorry for the crummy pics, could not get the camera to focus proper for the life of me.

The plana is chugging away nice with awesome PE, getting nice and blue. Still waiting for that green base to really shine.

Here is one of two new tube nems.. the other isnt playing nice and wont settle in. Just last night I got it to stay put after two weeks.

Here is an updated FTS. I made two slight changes to the scape and I love it now. Believe it or not the right structure was covered in GHA as well as the sand bed and overflow box a week ago. I did nothing and it has vanished! Woohoo!! easy peezy I got lucky. I think the Bio Pellets kicked in and smoked it!

I need more sticks I know. I havent added anything so this update is kinda boring plus bad pics so my apologies.

Thanks bud! I think Amanda was messing with the cam settings. After all I did find it in the bottom of her purse... :debi:

Just want to mention that i am very impressed with the new WaveLine DC10000 pump. It is awesome compared to the old hammerhead. Its dead quiet and pushes water across the full 4 feet of the tank no problem. One thing i enjoy is the soft starts. After feed mode ends it ramps up to speed nice and smooth. I love how i can change the GPH without messing with any ball valves.

Only con is the fittings are very micky mouse, i cracked one over tightening it. I highly recommend replacing the adapter fittings with more robust pieces.

Overall it packs alot of bang for the buck priced just over a similar waterblaster model.

quick update:

The tank is now officially a zeovit hybrid tank. Using the bio pellets for the NP reduction and some "enhancers". I bought the nano pack to test out and so far, I love it! Im using the Coral Vitalizer, Phols Xtra, AA LPS and Sponge Power. Looking to maybe cut the AA LPS and replace it with the AA HC.

Immediately after using CV the first time the Acro's went nuts. Noticed better PE. Just starting to see some small growth at the tips on the A. Planna but they are holding the rich blue color (wondering if that is the phols xtra at work?). No white growth yet but only just starting to see coraline take over the plastic surfaces in the tank... In due time.

I have been testing ALK like a banshee, it is dialed and rock solid at 135ppm on the Hanna. Cal is 440ppm on API, P04 is holding at 0.05ppm on Hanna with fairly moderate feedings. For 9 fish, NLS pellets twice daily, generous portion of PE mysis and either Oyster eggs or Baby Brine shrimp once daily + 10 drops of CV daily.

I promise to have some photos of some gorgeous corals next month so sit tight and enjoy the other awesome tanks here in the SPS forum while we wait :)

Yes Anup! Zeovit clan woooop.

The other day Allmost posted a link to the zeovit website and i figured what the heck, ill give it a shot. Im a believer :)

Hi Kevin,

Be very careful with AA very strong stuff. Use it when the tank has gone truly ULNS and since you are pretty much feeding heavy you can cut down on it. Observe the corals carefully and dose AA on a "need to use" basis.

Happy Reefing!!

10 4 rubber ducky!

I am and will make all doses followed by a 2 day observation period till i have this zeovit thing worked out. The tank is in true ulns mode, hence the up in feeding routine. The skimmer barely pulls any dark brew now. I prolly get about half a cup of yellow water a day. I clean the skimmer every day or two for peak performance. Ive changed brands of BP from the vertex brand to i think TLF but cant remember off the top of my dome but either way they are WAAY out performing the vertex brand. I havent even touched my GFO yet on this set up and PO4 is locked at 0.05ppm WOOP! Sry its been a long night ;)

Safe to say I aint messin around this time round. Too many tragic stories in this thread... Time for a swan song :)

I could not resist messing with the scape again. It keeps itching at me so I decided to scratch.

New FTS angle too, shows the height better. Photobuckets new format was frustrating tonight. The pic may have been compressed weird.

These photos were taken with an Olympus u tough-3005. I can get decent macros when I put it under water. Im pretty sure I am going to get the canon 60D and a Tamron 90mm unless I can find a 7D for under $1400 used. The baby is due on April 4th but Ill probably be buying the camera in the next month so I have some practice :) Thanks again for your help.

Those sticks looks cool.
