Acropora polyp retract

You know how they say once corals get larger; flow becomes restricted and more powerheads have to be added? Well wouldn't a tunze wavebox always provide some movement (especially to base of the SPS)? I ordered a tunze box and should have it in my tank by friday.

I have seen reefers remove MP-40s, Hydors, even Tunze nanostreams from there tank. However, I have never heard of a reefer that has used a tunze wavebox every consider removing it regardless of tank size (it's the only thing that makes everything dance!!!). Even the guy i bought the corals from agreed he would not part with this wavebox (he also removed 2 mp-40). I think a wavebox in conjunction with 2 controllable powerheads and 1 seaswirl will provide the ultimate flow and remove all dead spots.

I actually removed all my sand 3 months ago(since it was beyond repair). I have bought 30lb of sand/larger grade! But after seeing zero detrius in the tank and zero algae I might just leave it alone. Has anyone reading this gone barebottom? if so how do you like it?

I run a BB tank with no problem.

I would be measuring alk and cal daily at the same time every day now. You need to figure out how much these colonies are consuming daily and adjust dosing accordingly.
