Peter what's even more amazing is that the Turaki made it!

Can't keep that sucker alive for ever and ever and ever LOL.

Great JOB!

Thanks. It was turdy brown for a while, and even now it is not as "glowing" as usual, but it'll get there...

Sonny, Dave - Thank you! I must say SPS are a PITA, but also quite inspiring when they do well.

sdguy...lookin great! i've also had bad luck with turakis? watch out for those poci's...i've seen them bud off and get outta control :(.

Thanks. Actually, I had experience with a green poci which did that. It was promptly removed. A pink one did this as well - gone. This strange purple one, which I don't see too often, never ever drops babies. Strange....

Lookin good Peter! I love the red table.Swing by and I'll give you a peice of my nasuta. I owe ya.

Thanks Bradley, but that's a negative. I just gave both nasuta pieces away to a friend to see what he can do with them. I have no problem admitting when a coral will suck in my tank, so I won't even try anymore :)

How's the acclimitainer? ;) Russ recently made a fish trap with magnets on the door...works fantastic!

I'm interested in which you found to be a higher nutrient loving SPS, what were they?

Well, let's see. I've had good color with the Oregon Tort, Cali Tort, Surf 'n' Turf. Many of the ORA corals, like the tenuis. I've also kept two red tables so far, this current one and a previous one, also from Dr. Mac. Both surprisingly kept color very well. Most monochromatic stags. Lokanis, believe it or not.

Just so so: Milles (skeletal color stays nice, but brown furry polyps cover it up ), gomezi (usually keeps blue coralites, but body goes brown), ORA purple tip stag (insignis? - tips still nice, body more brown than purple, though to be honest, I've never seen one as purple as the ORA website pic), ORA German purple polyp green acro (only because the polyps go brown, body stays brilliant green).

Horrible: Pretty much all tricolors, nasuta, humilis, samoensis... Basically, any coral that needs its color to be against a whitish background body color to look pretty....

All JMO/E, YMMV :D

I just got home late last night from Seattle and just saw my new acclimitainer. Russ has done a fantastic job, I'm going to love it.
I'll even get to use it next week. I just purchased the Balli Pylei that was on D/D and will recieve him tues.
I'll post pics in the fish forum later next week.

Sweet! Look forward to the pics! Mine is pretty whimpy, so be careful with all your other guys.

Awesome, Peter, refreshing to see a nice tall stepped reef in this day and age of short and shallow. Looks so natural to me...

Sign me up for that Dr. Mac's red tableâ€"gorgeous...! I dig that Powder Blue too... Had him for long?

I actually have the ORA Red Planet. Definitely not the same coral. If you look carefully, the unknown has purple/blue coralite tips.

Thanks, yeah I love the look of the tank, but it's a real PITA to work in, and arrange/place stuff in. The PBT has been in my care for 2 years, 3 months :)

Thanks elijaher. 250, hopefully they will one day make me as happy as your STUNNING corals must make you :D

I notice that you have a vortech on one side. How do you like it?
I have been debating about purchasing one also. I just dont know how it will affect my lps.
