ADA 120-P + Elos Mini dual NPS tank journal

I found that site when I did a search for ozone reactors, even called & talked to them. Looks like very nice products! In better times I would have ordered their system already. But I think I will have to DIY it for now. Thats why I needed to thoroughly understand how every thing works, in order to be able to build my own. I'll post it when I get one on line.

As always thank you for your help
Jim

Look forward to seeing your DIY ozone setup. Since you are going to build it yourself, check out this awesome creation from Schuran. No bioballs, it uses a venturi to mix the water and air instead. Carbon reactor is built in as well. By far my favorite:

The Schuran Ozone Module is similar in technique to the Schuran Ozone Reactors. The water is sucked in by a pump and a venturi injector system mixed it with ozone. The water-ozone mixture is pressed in the reaction chamber and the diffusion resumes. The unused ozone is taken out of the gas atmosphere in the device and is injected through the venturi injector again. The integrated Restozonedestructer secures that no ozone can get out of this unit. The compact modular conception enables an easy expandability to the user.

Avast has been working on a cost effective ozone reactor which should be out to market soon. They can also hook you up with a custom size to fit your application if need be.

I ask Avast about theirs, looked good but they have been saying soon for some time now.

OK where did you fine that Schuran reactor? They don't even show it on their own website.
Only thing I could find was on glassbox article. Are they out yet? Where & How much?

It is on their website just in the wrong section. http://www.schuran.com/english/ozonmodul.html

You would probably have to get a retailer to order it in for you. I don't know if it would be worth the cost unless the retailer was ordering a bunch of other schuran stuff at the same time.

*Just did a search and it looks like Aqua Cave (sponsor here) and Aquaticeco are Schuran retailers. You might check with them on this. Their calcium reactors are still pretty popular so maybe you can have them bring one in with their next order.

finally got some decent pics of my Genicanthus bellus

I got this beautiful soft coral from DD, and I'm sorry to say I got it in horrible condition. I don't know if its going to make it. I've gotten a few polyps to open but IME when they come in this condition they are too far gone. It was sold as a Dendronephthya but I don't think it is.

I received my order of H20 Life Nanno9 Live Phytoplankton today. It contains the following species:

Nannochloropsis sp.
Chaetoceros gracilis
Thalassiosira weissflogii
Pavlova strain 2
Isochrysis glabana (T-Iso)
Micromonas pusilla
Rhodomonas lens
Tetraselmis suecica
Synechococcus sp.
Zooxanthellae

I will be dosing this continuously using a magnetic stirrer and flask in my mini-fridge. I also want to try phyto feast live although its very hard to find! I will probably have to ask an LFS to special order it in.

Thanks for the info Gresham, I didn't know that. I just checked out the Algagen website - they say they use it to grow dendronephthya and scleronephthya in their labs.

On another note - I was accepted for a 1 month veterinary externship at the Aquarium of the Pacific in Long Beach! For those that don't know, this is one of their tanks:

Yes, full time on site Jan - Feb 2012. Its kind of far away but we have to schedule all of our rotations a year in advance like that. But I'll be sure to remind everyone here in case you're in the area!

I just bought a "new to me" pocket HD camcorder and while I can play back in HD on my computer I can't get it to upload to youtube in HD. Nevertheless, here's my first clip:
