Adding 2 new clowns with 2 mated clowns in tank

Hi everyone. I have a 150g tank. I have 2 mated Ocellaris Clownfish tank raised and I want to add two more possibly black ones. The main reason why is I just added a carpet anemone a few weeks ago hoping my clown will want to go in. As of now they looked at it a lil for the first few day but no interest. I have had little success with anemones they always move around and get caught in the powerheads. Luckily I got this one and placed it near where the clownfish sleep and it hasn't moved. I'm hoping if I get 2 more wild caught clown the ones they will go inside it and the ones I have in my tank will see and imitate them.

I also have a 30g with a tomato clown and a rbta the first night I put it in the tomato jumped right in. Unfortunately that anemone hasn't been to well I think it got bleached when it was in a smaller tank and its tenticals have shrunk but its still there and hosting the clown. I loved seeing the clown wiggle around in the anemone and I want that in my 150.

My question is can I add a pair of wild caught Ocellaris Clownfish with the other 2 already in there?

No, only one pair of clowns per tank. A mated (spawning) pair of clowns will not tolerate other clowns and will kill them.

This ^^ is not 100% true. Many people have had success with more than one mated pair of clowns in the same tank. May not be the best idea, especially if you are not experienced, but it CAN be done. Should it, well let that debate begin.

I say, do your research, have a plan, and make the best educated decision that you can for you and your fishy family. Best of luck on whatever route you take!

I know my female only protects 1/2 of the tank, she doesn't go to the other side, but I know every clown is different. You might end up with the new clowns being more aggressive than your tank raised ones and have a problem at the end. I would only keep 1 pair of clowns, especially if they are already paired.

I know that you have a large tank, but adding multiple clowns especially mature clowns to each other will get you a lot of grief. While it is possible that 2 pairs may do OK, much more likely they batter each other to death or near death. I would recommended against it.

Well good new. I did not have to get another pair of clowns my tank raised clowns went in the anemone all by themselves. My theory is instinct kicked in all by itself or since I just added a small lionfish that helped out.
