Adding another Tang

Just want to know what your thoughts were if I were to add another Tang to my current tank (60*30*20). I currently have a PBT and a PT but was wanting to add a Bristletooth tang of some sort to help with algae control. I'm a little concerned it might get picked on in the beginning but if I were to put the new tang in an acclimation box for a bit, do you think the PBT and PT will accept him/her?

In my opinion, long term, 3 tangs in a foot tank will not work. In the short run an established zebrasoma tang will be highly territorial.

i don't know what a PT is but if you have a 5 foot tank, as long as your filtration can handle it i think you could add another tang, also depends on if you have any other fish in the tank or do you only have those 2 tang?

I wouldn't risk it. You already have two of the top five most aggressive tangs, in a tank on the small side, which would lead to increased aggression towards any newcomer. If you must add the third tang, an acclimation box would definitely be the best option.

He's right that they will probably beat him up because he's new, But as to too many for your tank, Three would be fine. I have 4 in a 48"x 30"x 24"

View attachment 270403IMO it should be OK. i added a chevron to a yellow and a pt without any issue. however, not sure about the pbt. i did add a bristletooth to a choc tang without issue. IME a ctenochaetus tang is seldom harressed by other tangs.
