adding pop to tank alternatives to powerbrites?

I went for the 48" reefbrite strip. sitting on the tank measured over 130 PAR 8" down and close to 100 on the sand bed.

currently testing mounting by the halide. at 12" up there is 30 par to the top SPS

The spread is excellent. sitting on the tank I can illuminate the entire 120 :)

Color fluorescence is exceptional.

taking pictures is a while different issue, pics look nothing like the real thing, the pics looked washed out, the tank looks anything but that! seeing colors we had never seen before!

**** these pictures don't come close to showing the fluorescence. pics exactly as the camera took them.

Glad you took my advice... the amount of light they produce is crazy, isn't it? :smokin: I'm hoping that we will soon see them on display at our local stores!

Much appreciate it! The amount of light is insane! The colors are fantastic! The build quality is nice. the provided bracket is ugly, but functional. Once I have my canopy done it should fit in there nicely!

The Power supply is making a funny noise, so I gave them a call. new one is already in the mail!

I need to read up on how to take pictures under these lights. I shot some macros in RAW and I can't color balance out the lights. I tried calibrating against an 18% gray card and no go.

forgot to mention -

* the blues have a nice shimmer!
* these add just the right amount of color with the phoenix 14K halides. a little extra blue and some extra fluorescence!

on a side note with just the reefbrites the fish do take on some funky colors. The run of the mill clowns look black!

Are they letting you keep the old one or did they want it back? If you got to keep it, can I take a peek at it some time?

I take it you got the version with JUST blue LEDs in it? Might wanna look at the spec sheets to find the wavelength they're operating at and then manually adjust around that number.

They want the power supply back to look at it, apparently this is a first time issue.

Good all on the spec sheet, I sent the email, hope to get some data back!

Hi , I meant the other width. 48 by what? I'm trying to see if one will fit on top of one of my tanks with the hamilton hood already in place. Can't find the dimensions for this unit in the on line links.

Blurry I just installed mine and wow, you guys weren't kidding. I ordered the 15inch 6 bulb light and it is way more then enough for my 18 inch cube. Well worth the money...

One question, has anyone ran any tests on the all white Led lights? Will they allow SPS growth? Can I keep a clam on the sandbed with them at 18" of depth? If so I'm thinking of making the switch to only LEDs. I just wouldn't want to buy another light to find out they weren't strong enough. Thanks...

LOL. yeah that light is pretty sick. unfortunately it has set a standard. the new 72 just looks bland without one :(

glad you are enjoying!

no idea on growing under them. if you google around you will find some folks who are running exclusive reefbrite with the bracket they have for sale that holds up to six strips (check me on that).

Wow those are really nice, I might have to indulge on a few set's. I would like to see these in person first, Any LFS have these on display? i don't think ARC does i no the have really kool moonlight's in the back room mounted on the ceiling.
