Adding Tangs - Please Advise

Looking to populate 78" x 24" x 24" tank with some tangs. All would go into QT together:

1 Purple Tang
2 Yellow Tangs
1 PBT
1 Naso

All relatively close in size. Am I asking for too much trouble with the Yellows?

I would stick to one zebrasoma in a tank of that size

imo, 4 yellows, 1 purple, 1 hippo. skip the pbt and naso. two yellows is hard to do, more is better.

Interesting - if I have to make a choice, I would prefer to have no yellows and add the PBT and naso back into the mix...

Ive never had success with a school of yellow gangs, even with ample room. I did take care of a 90 gallon tank with a purple and a yellow that did fine together. I once put five tangs in a four hundred gallon tank, that fought amongst themselves until there was one left. Then another five in a 700 gallon tank that did the same. Some people have had success but it's still a risk, even when they are small.

I think the Naso would be too big for that tank and I would add only 1 yellow. In that 180 I would keep 1 yellow 1 Purple 1 PBT and I would add a Bristletooth tang. 4 tangs total. Either add all at once or Bristletooth first then yellow then purple and last PBT

I have two yellows in my 300 gallon, but it's a touchy situation; they tolerate each other but that's all.
+1, your tank isnt big enough for a naso...

+2 on the Naso.
Multiple Zebrasomas can be hit or miss.
My vote is a purple, a PBT and careful course of TTM for ich.

Thanks all - I appreciate your input. I will pass on the Zebrasoma mixes and the Naso. I prefer to have a low stress tank for both me and the fish.

If you want a low stress tank I would recommend to stay clear of all tangs.

If you have to have a tang the smaller Zebrasoma species are probably your best bet.

As for Zebrasoma tang pairs: it works, but ideally you need to find two that already like to hang out together at the store.

A reef tank that does not have tangs just does not seem right IMO. We certainly can keep a tank tangless but I certainly would not want to
