My tank is an 84x24x24 with 2 MP40s, one on each opposite end (6" from surface centered). They run on Reefcrest, synced, at 100%. I recently acquired a 3rd mp40 from a friend and trying to figure out what would be the best placement and mode to run the additional mp40 in. Should I just sync it up as a slave or try something different?

I would recommend placing the pump on the back of the aquarium, and from there experimenting with both mode and speed until you find what works best for your aquarium.
