Adhesive/Sealer

I need to add a couple of water blockers in my IM overflows to raise my water level. Is there an adhesive that can be used that will also be watertight that can set fairly quickly so I can start the tank right back up?

Is that overflow acrylic or abs? Both have their own glues and both setup pretty darn fast... But i would still let them sit until i can't smell it just to be safer.

If you put some nylon (or other plastic) screws and nuts through the weir teeth and onto some adjustable 'blades' you could set it up basically instantly (even while wet). And it would be a non-permanent mod, and adjustable if you are unsure of how much you can raise it...

I'm going to say it's acrylic. I got pieces cut to three different sizes so I can try different depths.

Define "short time"?
If 24 hours is acceptable then there are 5 minute epoxies,etc... that can work.

BUT.. I also HIGHLY recommend drilling and using nylon screws or something like that to allow it to be adjustable and not permanently glued in place..
Some even just use zip ties..

24 hours is acceptable as I can still run my Vortechs. Whatever I use may have to be able to set up under a little water too.

You are just adding to the reasons an adhesive is not the proper choice...
Drill hole...screw/zip tie in place.. Watertight is absolutely not required here btw...

I cut ABS, then drilled and used nylon screws to make adjustable plates in my overflow so I could adjust the water level in the display based on the desired flow rates. It works perfectly. As noted, it does not need to be water tight. It just needs to create a dam to obstruct the flow. The ABS is in the overflow and the screws go in from the tank side between the teeth.

Thanks everyone for your help. I ended up cutting the acrylic so it was slightly too tight and I wedged it in and it’s working perfectly.
