The anemone today looks really bad. Its been fine since iv had it only about 2 weeks give or take. But it was deflated when I woke up this morning and its mouth is been gapping pretty bad. But then it will inflate again and the mouth will get tighter., Im not sure whats going on, and I dont think my clowns are helping eithere they wont leave the anemone alone im trying to figure out a way to seperate them. My lights are out and I just checked and it doesnt look to great but all my water is the same in the tank nothings changed since iv had it.
Its very confusing one minute it looks bad then awile later it looks better so im not really sure what I should do. Does anyone have any advice?

I have never kept a Mag, but from my understanding this sort of behavior is common with new ones, and most of the time isn't a good sign.

Yea thats what im afraid of. I just did a water change to see if that helps any.

Wish I had better news, sorry.

I knew when I got it would be hard just thought I got a healthy one. My percs arent gonna be happy if it does die. You have very nice carpets btw iv seen them in other threads.

I am sure they won't be. I know that my O's (( back when I had them )) were upset when I sold their LTA.

Thanks a lot, I am pretty happy with them. Perhaps one day I will think about setting up a tank for a Mag, they sure are great looking -- but the track record has always stopped me.

Sorry iv been pretty busy lately.

I have had the anemone for a month as of yesterday. Everything is looking good it looks like it was getting a lil bleached but its fine now. The clowns don't ever leave the thing! I guess thats a good thing since they feed it when I feed them. The anemone only deflated twice about a week or 2 after I got it since then its been all good.

I will try and borrow my friends camera and take some new pics since mine is broken. Should be within a couple of days at the most

Here are some pics I just took about 5 minutes ago. The anemone just got done eating a piece of silverside so its not as big as it normally is.

I have also noticed my piccasso has lost some of his black he had before but oh well I love the clowns and anemone together.

Thank you! And to think I almost pulled it out when I first started this thread since it looked so badly that one day.

You need to make sure that you don't over feed it. No feeding to the point that it regurgitate later in the day. No feeding to the point that it deflates after feeding.

Very nice - I would get one if I had room for another species tank, but as it is I'm swamped with a purple haddoni, a green haddoni, and a purple gigantea!

Orion:Thanks for the advice. Iv only spot fed it once since I have had it and that was yesterday a small piece of silverside, other than that it catches small pieces of shrimp and cyclopeeze when I feed my clowns.

M.Maddox thank you and wow! You have your hands full with all those carpets, I want to set up a tank just for a purple haddoni just dont have any more room for tanks at the moment.

Be careful with those fish food. Sometime a shipment did not stay cold during shipment and we (the reefers) end up with bad food. Bad siverside have been know to kill more than one anemone. I trust human food. I only feed my anemone something that I can eat if I want to. Table shrimp, and pieces of fish mean for human for my anemone. It adition to know that they are safe plus they are much cheaper than frozen food sold for fish. My anemone also eat flake food that I feed the tank.

Looking great. Keep the water quality in good shape and feed regularly and enjoy. You're fortunate to have gotten a healthy one to begin with.
