Advice on Tunze streams

McCrary

Can't Stop Time
I am was wondering which Tunze would be most appropriate for an SPS tank that is 48 x 18 (wide) x 30 (tall). I am currently looking at the 6000/6100, 1850/3175 gph. I was also wondering if the controller would be worth the money as I am only going to be using 2 (unless I need more?).

either one will be ok, with that height I would go with 6100 myself and yes controller is worth the money.

id get 2 6100s and the multi. ive never used a multi. but the single controller running my 6100 is amazing. im going to get another and the 7095 as soon as i can afford it

I would go with 6100 if you have to much you can run them at 75%. Yes the controller is very nice and gives great varying flow.

I would also suggest the 6100s. I have two of them in my 75BB and i love them. Make sure you get the controller.

I would get the 6000's and if you want to upgrade it costs exactly the difference to change them to 6100's, just a different transformer, i got mine from premium aquatics.

actually cheaper since you'll have an extra transformer.

Good point.

kinda off topic. how do you remove the cord from the transformer? (hockeypuck). just pull hard.? It looks hard wired.

^ it clips in so just push in the sides of it and it slides right out.

Edit: the transformer plugs into the driver box and the driver box is hard-wired to the pump.

Im not talking about the small silver box. Im talking about the black heavy disk... the issue I have is to remove my pumps to clean I have to either fish them down behind the tank or the black hockey puck up and out the hood doors that black hockey puck may not be called the transformer. ITS A REAL PAIN IN THE ASTERIK

actually you can open the driver box up and unplug the pump. it has a molex type connector

Thanks for the advice. I will start get the 6100's, I was just worried about blowing everything around.

getting the 6000 or 6100 without the controller is assanine.....

thats like kool aid with no sugar....ham no burger

I agree here. If you're not going to get the controller, just get the 6060/6080. Its not worth buying the more expensive ones without the controller.
