I believe the first is called Tyree Purple Unknown.

As for the lokani, all 5 frags that I salvaged are alive. The two in my tank seem to be doing well but time will tell!

For all you ATB fans out there, I am kicking around the idea of replacing my H&S 250 with an ATB 10.5 External. Still trying to get educated as it seems like there are a lot of different options Victor is willing to do for these. If I am going to overspend on a skimmer it better be perfect!! :)

Did i miss something? What happen to that Lokani? That is a beautiful piece :(

Almost lost the colony last week! total STN overnight. Think I dodged the bullet on this one though with 5 frags making it.

BTW since I know you are such a big fan of naming corals I decided to name this one Lakini Lokani . While driving for 10 hours to SD, I saw a song come across Sirius with the name Lakini. And there you have it...

Oh before I forget, thanks again for having me over to see your INSANE tank! The workmanship, attention to detail, and effort you put into this masterpiece is awe inspiring! Reading your thread I have always been amazed but to see it in person is something else.

Talking about attention to deal and workmanship my tank is nothing compare to your :D. But thanks for the kind word. It was great meeting you, your girlfriend and the two dogs yesterday...

Narrowing down the replacement skimmer selection...I think its between the ATB 10.5 Deluxe External and the soon to be released Reef Octopus XP-5000 Ext Cone. The Reef Octopus uses a newly introduced Bubble Blaster pump which is putting out some impressive numbers. 2400lph+ (81scfh+) on the 5000 model!! Perhaps the best part is that the Octopus is well under $1000 whereas the ATB is approaching $2000! Its going to be a tough call as the workmanship and attention to detail on the ATB's are outstanding. Havnt seen the new Octopus' in person yet but workmanship seems to be pretty solid.

yeah the CONE version.. i would love to see that on all white or black version.. not really a big fan of red..

But,either case. I'll be a guinea pig..

Ed-

You mean XP-5000 'CONE'

I am definitely leaning that way myself. Maybe you and I will be the two guinea pigs!!

I'd love to try out a cone skimmer on my reef just to see how it does, but don't feel like spending the money just because of that itch. I'll just watch your thread and see how you like it. ;)

do you mean this baby?

Hi Marc-

No shame in your game! Whichever I choose to buy I will be sure to give a full and candid report!!

Ptan-

Wow thanks for posting! When I first looked at it on my iphone I thought it was a 2000. I didn't think any of the 5000 cones were shipping yet! Very nice!!! Is that a 12" base?

They both look nice. I'll be interested in which one you choose and the result that go with it.

Have you ever thought about the MSX300A. Its a beast and you can't go wrong with the Askoll/Laguna pumps. I love it, and by far the best skimmer I have ever owned. Let me know if you want some pics of it in action.
