AgentSPS' 300 Gallon ***DreamReef***

Does anyone have much experience with keeping marine mysis? Thinking about ordering 250 for my fuge. Ideally I would like to keep a population going long term. Besides making good wrasse food, I figure the larvae will make good coral food.

Hit up Matt W. if you know him Erik. He was telling me of a lake in the bay area that has an awesome supply of fresh water mysis. It is a source that Steinhart uses for the feeding program. If not, let me know and I will ask him the name of the lake again. The process is pretty simple as long as you have the room for decent sized container. It may not be "marine" per say, but it may be another option.

I have a decent population of mysis in my system. They must have been in live rock I started with b/c I've never added any other source. I only see them after lights are out, and they are all over the bottom of the tank. I run a DSB and a eco-wheel turf scrubber, not sure if they persist b/c of those two areas. They survive despite a fairy wrasse and mandarin goby.

Thanks Marc! I will hit up Matt to find out what lake. maybe i can throw some of them in my FW planted for cleanup crew ;)

Thats great to hear you are able to sustain a population even w/ the mandarin and fairy. Fortunately I have the fuge and rubble tower where they will have no real predators. With all my rock I think I should be able to sustain a population in tank as well. Just easier then collecting from the fuge and dumping in the main tank.

How lame is that....RC blocks URL's!! just replace the ************ with ************ if you want to read the article...Gimme a break!

HAHA!!! I guess they are sensoring now because in addition to not being able to post certain URL's, you cant post even the name of the blog! China govt would be so proud.

reef builders without the space...last try!

Well if you guys never hear from me again, the Mods sentenced me to life hard labor at the prison camp :(

Hey Ed-

I will call you later tonight about it...

Hi James-

I snapped some quick shots. Not surprising they bleached out a bit during shipping. Not worried about the true mille coming back to full color but the blue is hit or miss when it comes to Fiji.

Really nice pick ups Erik, those ought to color up really nice for you!

Do you shop DD often? I've often contemplated shopping/buying from them but have never done so. From everything I've heard they have real quality stuff and great customer service.

Could you provide some feedback when you get around to it? And................... How bout a FTS???

Thanks! The pink/salmon colored Mille is HUGE! photo next to the blade is deceiving because of the angle but its over 6" and almost 4" tall!

I do buy a good amount of stuff from DD and have been very pleased! For the most part their photos are very accurate. I have never once had a DOA on fish and only once for coral. They took care of me on the DOA coral.

On this most recent shipment, each bag had at least a gallon of water in it!! I have had other vendors try to get away with as little water as possible. One time I purchased a large table from an unnamed vendor and the bag was so small that the coral barely fit. It tore through 3 of the 5 bags. Not surprisingly it arrived dead in a bag of putrid water. Guess that is one of the sad results of stores offering free shipping!

So my recommendation is you don't shop DD so that I have a better chance of grabbing the cherries!! :bounce3::bounce1::bounce3:

Eric, what lights are you running on the tank?

I threw on 3 x 400w reeflux 14k to see if the brighter bulbs would better reach the back of the tank. Didn't work though so I will likely go back to running 250w on the ends and 400w center. Colors were about the same so I would prefer to save on electricity.
