AI Hydra Settings Thread

Swapped tanks yesterday. From 60g to 100g and kept the two hydras. Decided to change the settings to 70% across for the 20k (as mentioned above) spectrum. 10" a AWL. It's peak color at the moment and I'm digging it!!

How far is everyone keeping there acros from there fixtures.

Mine are about 18 inches I think?

About the same for the highest corals. 32 for the ones on the bare bottom

Every lighting system has its advantages and disadvantages, I would say that LEDs are no different. I feel like the AI lights well made and the program that they use for the Director controlling the light is hard to beat. LEDs can do so much more with less heat and less power I think mine have just about paid for them selves in the electric bill savings. All in all a GREAT product with even better service.

If you added a third light would you run them the other way (turned 90 degrees)?
BTW, I like the way you set up the new Tank nice and open.

Thanks guys,Mine are at 15" to 18".Was thinking they were to close. There not bleaching.

My lights are 7" off the water and to the highest sps they are about 16" at 75% all colors. H52s and love the colors on the sps

This frag is growing at the sand. Lights are great with awesome color. I'm still adding sps to mh collection slowly

Thanks! I wanted minimalist aquascape and plenty of room to swim for all the fish. Also, I made the lights sit wider and a bit higher w much better spread. Wouldn't need a 3rd now. We shall see what the corals say haha

Very nice Tubbs.I working my Hydras on up to those percentages of colors.

It takes months to get percentages up there, I may stay at 75% because I'm adding 3 more hydra 52 total of 6 above.

i understand , i kept tuning but never was able to get anything that i like. so seeking some advice . i hang the lighting 10 inch above water level

AI Hydra Settings Thread

What kind of corals and how far are the corals from the light that are loosing color? How long have the lights been up and what was your starting % and how fast have you ramped up from there. There are lots of questions to be answered before you can get an answer.
