From what I have read the browning is the corals putting on sunscreen. So to speak

I switched to 4 hydra units about 3 weeks ago from a 6 bulb ATI fixture. I am currently running them at:

Whites: @35
and everything else @80.

My tank is 98% SPS. So far so good, I am happy with the color (to my eye) and corals seem to be just fine. I've had one turquoise tipped staghorn brown out a bit, but I can live with that for now. No bleaching on anything thus far.

guess to be more clear, meant from where? Not seeing when I log into my Director through my.ai

My Director came today just set up the wifi. how big a deal is it to switch the lights over? should i wait till the am?

What is needed with the Director? Do I need to purchase a wireless adaptor or does the Director plug into the Hydra and interface with the router?

It communicates wireless with the lights. Connect to the director and in the menu click the walk through.

Yeah, I was having the same issue.... Browning out... But I think it was because my whites were so high... Right now I dialed the whites Down to 20. Blues at 80

Has anyone noticed the red or green makes a difference? Every time I turn my greens up my water gets cloudy.... Also if I have my blues past 90 my water clouds...

So I would still need the wireless adaptor for the director to communicate with the lights? Kind of confusing. Premium Aquatics site lacks info. Interested in getting two for a 90 gal

I had my white's up high and my red planet was brown. About two weeks ago I turned down my white's, I will let you know what happens.

Here's my latest settings. there is a bug in director that although you set your color to 100% it will only go to 99%. subtract clouds and i usually sit between 75 and 90%

Nice settings. I just purchased 2 Hydras for my 125. I've only gotten one light so far and the director the second is due in tomorrow. Anyway after reading all these threads I have a question. It seems some people manually acclimate when changing to LEDs. My plan was to set the acclimation to like 65% for 8-10 weeks. Is there any problem using the acclimation system built into Director over doing it manually?

No, the director communicates wirelessly to the lights and CAN communicate wirelessly or wired to the internet.

Haha, man that was boggling me. I got the notification but couldn't find the post. Anyway no I do not think there is a problem with manual acclimation. It is just easier to remember with the built in one.

I do my acclimation manually. I turn up or down the LED intensity and raise or lower the lights as needed, based on what I'm seeing the corals are doing.

If you use the programmed acclimation, then you just set the power intensity once and the program will reduce the intensity for you... however, how would you know what the final intensities should be??? You're going to end up turning it up or down regardless based on the feedback the corals give.
