AI Hydra Settings Thread

Forgot to post a few pics from my wwc excursion a few weeks ago. THAT PLACE IS EXPENSIVE. But I just had to buy a bunch of stuff which all seem to be adjusting well haha View attachment 372732View attachment 372733View attachment 372734

Looking good! Will be nice to see how they grow out.

Out of curiosity what are guys getting for par numbers?
My 4 hydra 52s (nonHD) hung parallel to the tank about 15 above the water are giving me about 250 or so midway in a standard 180g.

So toying with adding t5 but before I do I will beat a dead horse. I have 4 Hydra 26hd over a 150 cube 36x36. The lights are 10 awl. I have noticed in last 3 days every thing is looking better with switching to all blues 75 uv30 red 10 green 10 white 0. What would be your thoughts orcus.

I have 2x hydra 26s in a pair but for some reason when I set the moon lighting they are not the same on each one.

For instance.

UV set to 5%

On one of them it's correct just UV but the other turns on the UV and B

But for normal daytime settings they are in sync.

Has anyone else had this?

I'll unpair tonight and see if I set them individually it's correct... If yes then WTH?

Bob unpair and run each light as a stand alone parent light. The parent and child software is a bit finicky. Ever since I set my five lights to each be a parent light I haven't had a single issue.

Alright I'll give it a go.
I guess it makes no difference if the times are set the same.

Heck could have them slightly different to make it look more natural such as clouds moving etc.

I have a Hydra 26 HD.... I have not seen anything on the AI website where I can program the lights about loading profiles.... is this not available with HD version? If so, I must be missing this... also don't see anything about moonlight.

Since you are using an original ai prime you have to go and manually match it to the royal blue channel on the light. The controller program is not smart enough to make the leap that the Blue channel on the HD lights is equivalent to the Deep Blue channel on the original prime :/

Orcus, Just found this thread today. Great information. Downloaded your .aip and installed at 25% acclimation for 8 weeks. Hope to see similar results as others have seen. I have a couple questions for you...

I have the AI Prime (non HD) and read that the DB needs to be adjusted to match the B light profile. Is this an exact time/percentage match? Or at what time does the DB meet and match up with the B profile?

Also out of curiosity, what does the "AB+" stand for in the file name?

Happy reefing!

There is the link to all of the profiles including an original Prime profile so you won't have to go through and match the db on 30+ points. The ab+ name and profile comes from a radion profile developed by ecotech and world wide corals to mimic a t5 bulb layout long used in coral grow houses. Specifically an Aquablue special Blue + bulb combo. Hence the AB+ :)

Yes you can upload profiles via the myAI web app or via the app on iOS devices. See below for the instructions on how to upload via the web app.

Thank you. I noticed the RGW values are higher in the non-HD profile than the HD version. Is there a reason for this?

How do those work with 26HD. I see the one in there says non-hd. Would love to try them. I love the AB+ on the radions.

The .aip files for 12awl and 24awl are for hydra hd lighting. You must upload them via the process I described above to your lights. The non-hd profile is the same except there is a db slider that replaces the b slider found on HD model lights.

Hey guys. I'm looking for some help in tweaking my hydra 52's (non HD) so came on here to look at some profiles.

I tried to download some of Orcus' profiles but I get this message when I upload them to myai:

The version of these settings is incompatible and cannot be imported.

is this because the settings are made for primes, 26's or HD's? or am I doing something wrong?

Thanks guys

(also thank you all for taking the time to upload your profiles and help the rest of us out)

EDIT: I know this question has probably been asked a thousand times in this thread before but im going back through the pages and its a lot of thread to go through. So far I havent been able to figure out my issue (or if the profile is just incompatible with my non hd 52's). SORRY!

EDIT#2: okay so ive found this post which is a conversion of orcus profile to work with the director and non-hd hydras:
http://www.reefcentral.com/forums/showpost.php?p=25019078&postcount=4448

It says just to change the extension type to api but I can't for the life of me figure out how to do that :hmm5: . This has not been a good day for confidence in my self sufficiency.
