What's the difference between the 12" and 24" files? Is it the tank depth?
Also if anyone want's I adapted the Non-HD Hydra to start at 7:30am as the tank is in my office at work. I may remove some points so total time the lights are on is 10 hours. Currently running it at 50% reduction as my peaks before were only at 55% before. Should I reduce the peaks in all colors as some are at 90% as that seems a lot for a shallow tank. Current tanks is a 15gal. My new tanks is InnovativeMarine 30L which I"ll be running two Hyda's 26's

It's for the height above the water line you are running the lights. The basic premise is for a softie/lps tank you elevate the lights 24" off the water, increase the intensity of the profile and run fewer lights. If your doing a tank full of acros you lower the lights the 10-12" off the water, run more lights and decrease the white channels since it makes acros bleach for some reason.

Ok, question orcus, do you have anywhere in this thread explaining how much to lower the intensity. I have mine hanging like 10'' AWL. had some yuma and other corals bleaching running 70% acclimation. How much to decrease the whites or how much to increase?

I'm at 10" off the water. How many T5 are you running with your leds?

No I don't and unfortunately I have no idea why your corals are struggling so much. A 70% acclimation is drastic your only going to be getting 50 or so par at 12" deep in your tank so it should not bleach anything let alone a ricordea. Also, hanging the lights 10" vs 12" off the water shouldn't make that much of a difference. In fact my two Prime HD's are about 10" off the water and everything is growing fine. I continue to believe it's the age of your system. 10 year old rock has had a decade to build up latent nutrients to release back into and foul up your water. If you want to go to a coral system I would recommend removing the sand and cooking the rock for a few months with a nice skimmer and a ton of GFO or phosguard to draw the nasty out.

Reeftub- tanks is looking VERY nice. Your set up is partially responsible for my current situation!! After reading this whole thread, months ago, I pulled the trigger on my Hydras. I'm running 4 T5s and 3 Hyrda 26hds, my SPS are starting to take off. FYI I'm running Wazzel's schedule for the most part. Thanks for all the trail and error you guys had to endure .... Made it a bit easier for some of us who made the change later! CHEERS

No problem glad it's all working out for ya!

Thanks orcus, I am in process of building and algae scrubber and also sending water sample to tectron labs. If this doesn't help in the next coming month I will be doing the cooking method on rocks and putting new sand in.

Keep us updated and I wish you the best of luck. Wish I was more help :/
