Thought I would share my max settings.
White: 40% (when higher than 45% i feel like my corals look burnt)
Violet: 55%
Red: 12% (when higher than 15% algae growth goes up)
Green: 10% (when higher than 15% algae growth goes up)
D-blue: 63%
Royal: 64%
UV: 55%
The light fixture is 7-8" above the water. I'm at a 12 hour photo period with a 3 hour ramp up and down. These max settings are on the tank for 6 hours a day.
Here are some pics of what the tank looks like. All pics have been taken with a Canon 7D with a 24-70L mk I lens. I have post processed the pics in Lightroom to make them more like as I see them on my tank. :wavehand:
Anyone else having problems with the director or is it just me. I set my hydra and controller up over my 38 on Monday and since then I have had to completely reset the director twice and tonight up went to bed early and woke up at 12:30 to notice the light never started to ramp down as it was supposed to at 8pm. I tried to reset it tonight but that didn't work, the wave length frequency box is blank as is the box below for color/power setting, tried changing channels and nothing. Just hoping my corals aren't damaged from being a full ramp power for over 14 hours today.
Wow that's quite a lot of info lol.
how many are over your tank?
did you find increasing red/green only effect algae growth or did it also affect coral?
interesting, i am lowering my whites also - do you have uv maxed @ 55% for 6hrs?
hmmm no not an issue i've seen - you might have set the wrong time - or your router is not working.
you didn't notice they were not ramping down @ night?
Wow nice set up as the frags get established its going to be amazing.
Does it have a sump?
Yeap underneath it I will post a pic of it when I get home. 20g sump with herbie OF. best thing ever!!!!!
I only have one on an Elos Mini (20 gallon cube).
As for the red and green. I had them over 15% for about 2-3 weeks and noticed the algae growth. The time period is too short to really comment on the how they affected the corals.
I did run the whites at over 45% for 1.5-2 months and noticed my corals receding. After lowering it back to 40% or so they have started to come back. Mind you this tank is only 5+ months old but tank water parameters have been pretty consistent within a range (Cal: 430-450 ppm; Alk: 8.1-8.3; Mag 1400-1450ppm).
You're lucky, I called because when I connect to the director I get a blank screen 90% of the time. They said there wasn't enough power going to it and they are sending me a, wait for it... brand new USB cable...
thats too funny - btw did you try a new usb cable first? I know that some of the directors came with underpowered adapters.
what is the max % of your whites and for how long?
So AI is sending me yet another light. Hopefully this one works!! Haha
Did they ask for the other back?
