looks good to me. how long have you had the hydra's set up?

I turned them on last Saturday evening. My ballast on my standard T5 went bad and I decided that was the right time to upgrade my lighting. I am planning to move to either a 125 or 180 gallon next fall/winter so that also helped make the decision to spend the extra money.

I am also getting some brown algae on my sand bed but I think I had my R/G too high for the first couple days. They were running close to 50% with no acclimation on.

Looks like your on the right track!

with the most frequent update is anyone else seeing problems with there fan? i used to run my lights on the high scale but now just the blues are really high and my fans dont work- they used to until the clouds turned on. i turned cloud coverage off and still nothing. however when i unplug it and plug it back in the fans turn on and run and stay running the whole day because the lights over the time of the fan not turning on get really hot. just wondering if this is a common error that somewhere an update went wrong in the firmware.

Hey guys. I just got my Hydra yesterday. I updated the new controller to the newest firmware as well. I put my settings in but once i unplug the controller the lights stay constant...

They don't change throughout the day. Whatever intensity they were at when I unplugged the controller they remain. Starting to get really annoying, any fix to this?

The controller has to always be plugged in and powered on at all times or it won't recognize your settings and it will stay on constant.

As far as the fans go, mine don't come on and stay on. Only when needed. Is yours open air or in a canopy?

is the controller the wireless one? what do you mean you unplug it? from your computer or its power source?

Wow lol, did not expect that. Kind of disappointed but oh well, I'll deal with it. Otherwise I'm loving the lights.

You face the same problem however when there is an update. I was away at school when a new update came out and my hydra lost contact with the controller. it stayed on for a few days -_-

Going to set my light up to my Apex as a backup that way after whatever time if the light's lose connection the apex will shut them off at the power source just like a timer. That way they may be on full (worst case) but at least they will go off every night till I get back to fix them. What you think?

should work i guess, i never worked with apex or anything only thing i ever used as a backup was a manual timer- which i may try with the hydra

yea i had my reds on too high also - got some algae on the sand bed. It's starting to clear up.
use the acclimation setting its worth it - coming off t5's i would acclimate for a month.

I'm wondering if people are using the weather part of director and where they are setting their location to. Great Barrier Reef or somewhere close to them
