I'm gettin tired of the director and it's bs. Not always working, or some other bullsh1t making it not function 100%. Can't connect to a device or communication to light failed. Pis5es me off

I went back to the wireless controller till I get the Apex AWM going need to update the Apex software to get it to work. just need to take the time to get it all done! As soon as I do I will let you know how it works. I suspect that like all the other Apex products it will work very well.

Mine has been very stable but I did have a few issues setting it up the first time.
how old is your router?(could be an issue with interference or not connecting) and how many ports?
try changing the channel the director is on - could be interference (sounds like your issue)
Check your security settings
try connecting using the IP addy

Hey guys. I have a couple questions about the lunar mode. 1) does it work in acclimation mode? 2) Do you need to have a night time light programmed?
I've currently got my Ai hydra at 50% reduction acclimation mode. I had my lights at 3% DB but the lights were just staying on all night. I had sunset at 10PM lunar mode 11PM-6AM and sunrise at 11am. It was just staying at 3% all night until sunrise.

Hi, lunar works in acclimation mode but I'm sure lunar percentages are less than acclimation settings. I think that's what you are asking.
The light itself becomes the lunar light so no other light is necessary. I just set my deep blue to min 5%. Once lunar kicks in the lights will stay on dimly lit until a new moon.

those are what I like also, It is a good starting point every tank is a little different.
So when I had my lunar setting from 11PM-6AM the lights would stay on even after 6AM. Is my controller not functioning correctly?
Essentially what I would like to do is 10PM sunset - 10PM lunar mode until 6Am. Dark until 11AM.

You would need to adjust your time zone so that the director thinks it's night time at 6am.

I have finally received the director after weeks of waiting for it on back order. I ended up canceling my order from one store and reordered it from BRS. My tank has been under two hydras for around one month and the coral acclimation has ended. I am noticing significant green hair algae where there was none before. I currently have my lights set up as:
I have been modifying them a little as I go but not anything significant. Mostly based on others users experiences in this thread. Thanks to all for their input.
I do like the look of the lights on the tank but I am not happy with this hair algae outbreak. With red and green at 10% I was hoping not to encounter this. I have an 1150gph and 500gph powerhead at one end of the tank and two 750gph powerheads at the other. They alternate end to end every 30 seconds. My water parameters are:
So far I also like the directors additional control it provides. Does the director not perform sweeping cloud cover yet??

I red that article a while ago. Interesting. Since it affect styloporas so far do you think it has the same effect on acros? Or is the structure of the styloporas being more open than acros.

Everyone's tank is different. You might have to lower your reds or blues because they have been know to promote growth in algae especially now since they are using those colors in the new algae scrubbers.
