AI Hydra Settings Thread

Just upgraded my sols. Starting out with the following. No clouds or anything yet. Want to see how my coral react to the same lighting schedule but different spectrum for a few weeks. Then I'll play with all the toys and start thinking about a uv peak mid day.

Everything looks good but the white looks pretty high. Especially with blue being low. Your tank probably looks blinding white with little to no coralline growth or some coralline bleaching.
I would drop the white down around 25%, it will look more natural with the blues.

Another thought that I am having... I see a lot of people leaving LEDS because of the lack of light on the undersides of some corals. On another thread, I am in the process of adding T5s to my Hydras... Perhaps it's simply not having enough LED fixtures for the light from the LEDs to spread out better... I have two Hydras running parallel with the front of the tank. Perhaps I need 4 Hydras running front to back to get the spread? It would be a lot of light but perhaps the spread would be better... what do you all think???

I agree, I have been thinking of adding another hydra between my center brace but I want to put them on a curved brace about 20 degrees facing each other.

So far these are my latest settings giving me the best colors and insane growth. Bringing the white lower seems to help coralline grow.

UV 35
Violet 75
Blues 100
Green/red 5
White 30
Clouds 20% probability 10% intensity

has anyone else perfected there photography skills yet with the hydras? and can offer up some advice- iv got a sony a200 which is like the base lvl nikon and cannon but leds are so hard to capture even using a white plate for white balance?

If i put my camera on a nighttime setting it helps a little, otherwise it's too blue. Its a setting that I have on my HTC one. You can try that if you gave a simalar setting on your camera

Do you have pics of your tank with the Blues at 100% and whites at 30%? Is it too blue or does it still gives a nice color blend?

Im currently running my whites at 30% and Blues at 50% and raising the Blues 2% per week...

I move my CW down to 30 yesterday, but I am not happy with the color. I think I will get them up to 40. I ave blues at 80 but currently only at 84% overall intensityl

I have lowered my whites to 30 for 5 hours but I do peak my uv, violet green and red for 3 hrs seems to be working. My blues are @ 90 from 10 to 4

Thanks! Unfortunately the picture doesn't show any colors, at the top left of the tallest rock is a bright pink Monti which is white in the photo...are you are using the manual settings? Those will work as well, but I don't think the sunrise and sunset is automatically updated.

Not sure what you mean by manual settings, I do have 6am sun up 4pm sundown

Does your graph say weather enabled, to control timers, disable weather. ? If so that is automatic mode. If you see the individual color drop downs then that is manual mode.
