AI Hydra Settings Thread

Thanks, again, @kenpau! Do you mind just giving us your Apex login so we can test the presets ourselves? ;-)

Haha, imagine that! My Apex login is more valuable than my internet banking login! Imagine the damage someone could do if they hacked into your Apex Fusion account! You could turn off return pumps, ramp heaters up, turn chillers off, put lights on 100%! Good thing Neptune Systems put good security on it!!

No you wouldn't. At least not going by the Apex presets anyway.

Here are the 20k settings again:-

Red - 37%
Green - 17%
Blue - 100%
Royal Blue - 100%
Deep Blue - 100%
Violet - 100%
UV - 100%
Cool White - 37%
Warm White - 37%
Neutral White - 37%

I really want to half the power settings. Maybe put on a year acclimation.

I'm pretty sure it's fine to lower all he settings by the same factor. Example 25% lower across the board. There is no way I can run anywhere near 100%.

I suspect there are differences in the AI and APEX controls. The APEX report shows percentages for color mix and a separate percentage for intensity. Since I have SOLS I can't comment on the latest controllers from AI as to whether or not this adjustment is available from them. Please advise.

After a lot of reading on this thread, trying many, many settings given and after 4 weeks acclimatisation, I'm finally happy (for now) with my settings and am letting the corals acclimatise and hopefully colour up.

24" cube with 1x Hydra @ 5" above water level. 80% SPS, 20% LPS.

UV 15
V 70
BLUES 100
G 10
R 6
W 40

Sure thing, 10k settings are as follows:-

Red - 100%
Green - 100%
Blue - 75%
Royal Blue - 75%
Deep Blue - 75%
Violet - 75%
UV - 75%
Cool White - 100%
Warm White - 100%
Neutral White - 100%

can i program this into the director ? but the warm white setting and the neutral white i cannot locate it on the director . any one can advice please ?

Happy to have this thread, the colors for different K temp is great. I didn't use acclimation for my 120 custom tank, but they were run under lots of reefbreeder fixtures before I swapped. I run 4 hydra 26s and peak them at 85% all channels at noon. The outside ones run like that for 2hr, the middle 2 run like that for 4hr (I have clams there). After that I taper them down for a 18k look that I like when I get home from work.

Sorry , but I have a problem with the directror , if the Internet goes down controller lamp finsice to work and I often have to take action to shut down the DIRECTOR reoperation to do ... is this normal?
the controller ( remote control type ) ache requires Internet ?

The director only requires internet when you makes changes to the lights. I read that it communicates with the lights differently - not using your home internet. I can confirm that when I lose internet, as it does go down often, the lights continue as if nothing happened.

Even losing internet for a long period does not have a problem with Hydra ? The morning starts normally ?

It does for me. I have not lost internet for more than 1 day since getting them, but my internet generally goes down for a few hours every couple of days. I had no issues with the lights. One light did start a bit behind the others, AI suggested going from wireless channel 1 to 10 and that solved it.
