AI Hydra Settings Thread

I don't see the bulls eye! Did you have to delete all your settings first?

You are using the web interface, correct?

If so, one the "Control" screen, where it shows your daily light schedule, drag the green line to a time point, like 12 noon. Click on the green + that's on that line. A new window pops up with sliders to adjust each channel for that time point. In the top right of that box is an 'x' to close it, and right under that is the bullseye I'm talking about.

Hope that helps!

Ok folks, just found something really cool that may help you. I am running the AI Prime, and have been using the iPhone app mostly for control. Recently, I began playing with the web interface, and have found some new added functionality, to include color temp settings!

First, a disclaimer. I am not an expert, in fact I'm a newbie. I don't work in the pet/aquarium/light industry. These settings are from the programming for the Prime, which may share some similarities with the Hydra series, or, may not. These settings may nuke your whole house.

When I switch control to manual, there's a little semi bullseye icon next to the sliders. If I click on that, it takes me to a screen where I can select the desired color temp and intensity by using just two sliders (one for temp, one for intensity)! How cool is that?

Now, please pardon the poor quality photos ahead, these are cell phone shots of my laptop screen, so they look funky.

Here is the screen where you can select color temp and intensity:

Now, I'll show you the settings (set by AI) for a range of color temps from 10k to 20k, all were done at 50% intensity. Here you go:

10k

Good luck!

Can I ask you to label what each color is?

FYI Director users, they do have a limited range. I moved my lights into the same room as the director and the update is going just fine.

No update, but if you get a new light it will need to be updated to the current latest version 2.053.R0, 99% of the time the Director will tell you if there is an update available.

Glad to hear wazzel!, I think it's about the same range as Bluetooth, 33'

I am happy. Guess I need to get the director moved back into the same room as the tank to be ready for the next update. For some reason it handles the schedule changes and what not with no problem, but the update gave it fits. I wonder if it is the size of the data files being transmitted. The data window on the hydra shows strong signal strength.

Hello i just made an account for this thread. I should be receiving a hydra 26 on monday along with a wireless controller. It will be installed on a mr aqua 17 that i have converted to AIO. the dimensions are 20Lx12Wx14H. Its is sps dominated and i am switching over from a sol blue. If someone has a page or post number for setting and coral acclamation it would be greatly appreciated. I have searched the best i could but 131 pages and you kind of forget where things are. Thanks again

Wooohooo, I just hooked mine up a couple of days ago. Had some scrap plexiglass and made up a quick bracket. Pretty cool led. Makes everything pop pretty nice mellow shimmer too.

I do have a question I forgot to ask.

I have mine set on Acc 40% of the factory default set of 80%
The thing is, When I unplug my remote (new remote) a few minutes later the leds dim even more. Then when I power up the remote it goes back to where it suppose to be.

I have no weather, lunar or anything else on that I can see besides the acclimation?

Any ideas?
Thx.

It's more than likely a safety feature so your corals don't bleach and to notify you something is wrong

I thought about that, But why do they go back when I power up the remote? lol
And they power up to acclimation setting. They seem to dim 50% of what my acclimation is at.

It only dims down when my remote is not plugged in.

They power back up because the remote is resending the program, if you wait long enough do they return to normal or is acclamation actually enabled?
