I will mess around with this when I get home and share the results. How do you accomplish the every 5 minute ramp up? At 8 do you just start the dB and the others at. 8:30? I would expect to see points at every 5 minute interval...

There are points there. You only see the points for the color selected (white in the screen shot). When you grab a point it shows you time and intensity for that point as you move it around. Each of my colors have 8 points, 1 at each inflection point (6) and 2 at midnight where the graph starts and ends.

Hmm ok I guess I haven't figured out how to have points for each color... I will pm you when I can look at it more closely if that is ok.. Or could you export your configuration and send it to me.

PM me if you like, no problem.

Does anyone set there lights using the Kelvin/dial?

I'm running a Hydra52 over a 2x2x2 cube. 14500k @ 70% for 9hrs with a 2hr ramp each side.

Colours on the SPS are really coming on strong.

Thank you. I'm okay with it not reaching the corners. If it'll cover 28x28 I'll be happy.

Even 28x28 IMHO is pushing it coverage/shading wise for one light. I started with a single hydra 52Hd over my 29 gallon and added a prime HD to decrease shading and act as a spotlight for my nem. FYI the 52 is centered over the tank (11" off the water) and the prime HD is off to one side (10" off the water). Even with all of that light (especially so for such a small setup) it still leaves the primeless side dim. Overall though I'm very happy with the lights, especially since I bought the prime, but looking back on it now I wish I had originally gone with 3 primes or 2 26HD...

My turn.
I just hung 2 Non HD Hydra 52's 16" from the water line on my 93 mixed reef cube.
Good height?
Color, intensity, and ramp suggestions?

Running from a Director, have controller as well.
And...go

Yes, I'm interested in hearing comments about this height as well. I have mine hung about the same and at first I thought I needed to have them dialed way up. Recently though I discovered I needed to turn them down. Currently I'm running then at 40% intensity.

I would go around 12" above water. As far as settings I have had good luck with what I posted. FYI the 5 minutes I mentioned is actually 10. if you want my set up file pm me your e-mail and I will send it over.

No one using the Kelvin/intensity dial?

I did initially to get an idea for the intensity ratio that produced the color I was looking for, which ended up being between 10-12k. Then I created my schedule with built in simulated cloud cover (10k ratio for direct sunlight 12k ratio for cloud cover) using the ratios I obtained from the Kelvin bar. Also, I run at about 60% total intensity and love the coral color and growth I am seeing!

Hydras Twenty Six HD LED's thread

For my Hydras Twenty Six HD LED lights I went with rail mounting kit. I got the 48'' rod and the 18'' extension pole. I only have one up and getting ready to install the 2nd one on the other side. So far it looks awesome and it lights up the tank unbelievable. They are set about 10 inches above the water level. I have attached two pictures, one of how I installed one of the rails w/ ext kit. The other pix is when my Lunar lights are on which when they are on I run just the Royal blues at 2% and the other Blue @ 2% until the rampage starts at 2pm. Since I have never ran leds I have them cranked down a little lower then the acclimation mode, just so i don't have any algae bloom. My Current settings are the following below from 2pm till 10:30pm:

White: 32%
Red: 10%
Green: 10%
Blue: 75%
Royal Blue: 75%
Violet: 10%
UV: 10%

Think I've finally found my sweet spot.
2x2x2 cube.
Hydra52 mounted 6" above water level.
SPS dominated on central structure.

UV 100%
Violet 100%
DB 100%
RB 100%
Green 43%
Red 10%
CW 43%

9 hours with 2hr ramps.
DB @ 5% on lunar
1% lightening @20%
5% cloud cover @ 20%

Would post pictures but everything comes out too purple on the phone camera:uhoh3:

I've read through a lot of this thread and still haven't quite found what I'm looking for. I just set up a 20 gallon long with a Hydra 26 mounted 6" AWL and have been playing around with the settings on it but am still not quite sure where I should have things at. It's a new tank with no corals yet.

Here's where I'm at:

UV 25%
V 60%
ROYAL 70%
BLUE 70%
GR 20%
RD 20%
W 33%

3.5 hr ramp on either side with 5 hr peak.

Any recommendations? WL to sand bed is only 10" so if anything I'm running the light too high.

I think that's a good starting point intensity wise but on a tank that shallow I would place the light at least 10-12" AWL. You want to give the light a chance to dispearse/mix before it enters the water. At 6" IMO it will be like trying to grow coral with a laser vs growing with imitation sun light.

O and for reference I started my 52 about 8" AWL and have moved it up overtime to its current position about 13" AWL. And everytime I inched it higher (up to 13ish inches) odd shading growth diminished and corals colored up better.

Thoughts on my settings? Just got these lights and love them but trying to dial them in. Also thinking of turning the actual light for better dispersion? Running on an IM Nuvo 38 with zoas, softies and LPS.
