Bump

Thank you Orcus Varuna! we are all grumpy from time to time, honestly I fought the lighting settings surfing in internet before joining RC. The tank is in maturing process, 10 day to be exactly so I guess I will have many grumpy and happy days coming. Thanks again.

Orcus, thanks for the info. I noticed the Red, Green and White percent values are higher in the non-HD profile than the HD version. Is there a reason for this?

What are the % of the red green and white colors on the non hd model? I've been trying to get these so I can set my hydra 52s non hd. Thanks

The Non-HD Prime 12AWL profile received has the peaks at 35% and the lows at 20% with an occasional 15% every couple hours.

I should have also included Orcus' explanation for these values. As noted, they are higher than the Prime HD profile (25% peak; 15% low) to provide a higher PAR value for a 17G anemone tank (approx 16" tall).

Out of curiosity what are guys getting for par numbers?
My 4 hydra 52s (nonHD) hung parallel to the tank about 15 above the water are giving me about 250 or so midway in a standard 180g.

So no-one is checking par? I just moved my lights down to about 10" off the water and definitely increased the par to the upper 300 range directly under the lights.

I have posted par readings before and so have a few others. Running the 12" profile I was getting 250ish par 12" down and in the 400's just below the surface.

Ok gotcha thanks guys, thought maybe by chance someone had figured out the % for the non hd version of the 52.

Those settings I posted for the non had prime are working great on my nem cube. Don't have many sps in there but fwiw my poccilopora seems to be doing well along with the nems.

Thanks Orcus. I have been slowly trying to read through this thread from the beginning while simultaneously reading from where I started about a year ago!

Anytime!! a few pages back there was a tank picture with interpolated par readings that was pretty awesome.

When you have more lights over a foot print than others it makes it hard to reach the same overall % as others with less lights. I have 6 hydra 52 over a 190g and 4-T5. I can easily reach 200 to 250 par 12" deep running 65% peak with the AB+ lights schedule and my lights are 11" off the water. Tank is 60"x27"x27". All lights run side by side = = =. Has anyone with low nutrient tank had par up past 250 and had good luck with color and growth or is the best par 200 to 250 with low nutrients?

I'll let you know in about six months when my pinky sized acro nubs really start to grow out [emoji23]. I don't have PAR readings on the new tank yet but with 6 pucks over a 24x24 foot print I have to be pushing 350-400 par on the top of the rocks. Once the tank settles more I'll really clamp nutrients down just to see how acros handle all that light with low nutrients. My guess would be you could milk some great colors if your nutrient control leads to very low but stable #'s. if not stable an up swing would lead to rapid browning and striping nutrients completely will cause bleaching and stn.

Would you still use same lighting program and Intensities if you had 4 Hydra 26hd over 36x36 cube lights 10 awl

I believe you wouldn't be able to get as high with % before reaching the par numbers. You get a over lapping of light which will increase the intensity.

That is my thought process. I wanted to make sure shadows wont be an issue. But also worried about to high of intensity.
