Algae removal/filtration question

Would it be possible to use a filter like the magnum 350 with the micron cartridge filter to suck up bubble algae with out it going back into the water column?

Valonia sticks to surfaces quite firmly. Don't know if the magnum could vacuum it all off. In some locations it might be easier to just pull it off with your fingers or a tweezer or scrape it off and net any floating in the water.

Tom, what if i accidentally popped one? If I held the suction line up to suck it in, would the micron filter capture it?

I wouldn't worry about accidentally popping it. Usually , ime spores are't a big issue. Try to get em whole but get em anyway you can is my approach.. I think they have to be realtively large before they generate viable spores.
