Algae Scrubber Basics

Here's my ATS I just finished building:

(I know, I need to fix the tubing)

Just waiting for a silicone seal to dry and then I'll get it running. It's pumped up by a maxijet and a gravity feed back. Any questions feel free to ask.

For a screen that small I would use CFL floodlights. The reflectors are way too big, you need the light signature to be more or less restricted to the screen or else it won't work that well.

Is that a different type of bulb? Or a whole different light in itself..?

Google it man. CFL floodlight. It's a CFL in a floodlight. Built-in reflector. It's also shown in the basics in my signature. Good for a 6 x 6 screen roughly. Perfect for yours. Just take off the dome reflectors since you don't need them.

so this is the kind of growth im getting

DSC00473.jpg

Flow= 450GPH
Lighting= 100Watts
Everyday Food= .1oz NLS pellets, 2 myasis cubes, 15in^2 Ocean nutrition red algea

Every other day Food= Food stated above + 2 3" gutted smelt, 4-5 hikari Massivore pellets

Perameters:

Phos= .1
Nitrate=5
PH=8.2
Alk=9.1
Ca=380
Nitrite=0
Ammonia=0

Black cyno is covering everything in the sump so im not sure if it was the cyno or the scrubber that brought the nitrate down. The tank is 300gal with 75 gal sump.
Any suggestions

looking to set up a led algea scrubber, can you point me in a good lighting direction source? a link would be cool too. looked into eshine but dont know what to look at from there

e-shine is pretty much the only 'stock' fixture that I have found that is halfway decent for the price. If you google "LED grow bar" or "LED grow strip" you will get a few hits but nothing that has actually been tried to my knowledge. If you want to DIY them, RapidLED and Heatsink USA, of course you can get cheaper LEDs online via e-bay, etc, but you get what you pay for.

I got my LEDs from satisled. They are red 660's and I paid $1.40 each. I know the old adage is you get what you pay for but there is no doubting the results if my $35 dollar fixture.

Where did you get them for $1.40 each? Their site has them listed at $1.35 if you buy over 800, but for less than 80 they're $1.78 and 10 for $20 on e-bay.

I've had them for around 8 months now or longer. Even still at $1.78 that still isn't bad. I have 10 red and 4 warm white and the growth I get is amazing. Earlier back in this thread I posted pics of my growth. The fixture cost me around 35 to do.

Would you kindly post the parts list for this? Is that price including drivers and a power supply?

So I was looking on Modularled.ca and he has the XPERED-L1-0000-00501, which is Cree's red led's at 620-630nm is that a good range or do we want different. I know it was mentioned but I can't find it.
