All Anemones Dead

I've not had the best of luck with anemones, 3 BTA and a Seaba. Everything I've put in has kicked the bucket. I've researched and found the first two was most likely because I was to new to the hobby and unstable parameters. My Seaba was bleached but doing well till I noticed my hydrometer was not accurate and I raised the salinity to quickly. Then I waited a long time and my tank looks great with coralline growing. I've got all parameters stable and according to the LFS they are great. PH 8.4, Ammonia 0, Nitrite 0, Nitrate 0, Phosphate 0.5, CA, Mg and Kh are with in normal range. Lighting you can see in my signature. The last BTA I bought had Great color, brown with purple tips. I acclimated him by floating then adding a bit of water to the bag over 30 min. Placed him on the bottom of the tank and he quickly attached himself to a rock and moved into a hiding spot. Looked great over the next three days. I'm a Fireman and left the 4th day to go to work, 24 hr shift, and again he looked great tucked back into his little corner. Came home the next morning and he was upside down in a different spot under some rocks. I noticed lots of gunk floating around. I picked him up and he had that smell, although his foot was still puffed up. The guys at the LFS think I've got something attacking my anemones. I do know I have bristles in my tank but I really don't see many of them at night. I've placed some cheese cloth with some food wrapped in it near where my anemone died hoping to catch something to give me an answer. Any ideas what may be the problem. My tank is fish less right now due to the Ich. I've got a few other corals and they seem ok. I do have a brain that the LFS said looks like something is irritating him. Ok, So what are your thoughts.

Do you have other inverts in the tank? Has the tank ever been treated with copper (even before you got it)?

No copper. Presently hermits, sales, mama MIA worms, brittle sears, trumpet coral, frog spawn, and a brain. Five with macro algae.

Too short/wrong acclimitisation? 30 min and pouring water in manually is not a good way.

I'd reccommend 2hrs by drip. It's possible it was shocked.

Your tank still isn't quite 6 months old. I'd say still too much too soon, especially with anemones. You just started using RO/DI around Christmas, so I'd say your tank still isn't stable enough to be putting nems in.

Plus, the salinity issue was just on 1/18/11, so that's not really a long time.

FWIW i cup acclimated my LTA for about 45 minutes (don't know how to set up a drip system). and I put it in a tank that was only 6 weeks old. and I don't have much coraline algae. and I don't have enough lighting. and I didn't have enough sand. and I don't know what I'm doing... but so far so good.

..just sayin

edit: knock on wood

Well, this really isn't a good way to do things. IMHO.

Good luck.

So did you add anything to the tank to treat the Ich, or are you just leaving it fishless for a few weeks?
