Normal, is there such a thing? You have OCD like most people here, its like your going to the bar and asking your buddies if your an alcoholic:lolspin:. It could be worse either become an alki, druggie, sex addict, religious fanatic................. or get some crazy hobby to obsess on. I think you made the right decision

you guys are abnormal lol...hey how many of you have a significant other that will wait for you to buy reef stuff only to go out on a shopping spree and you know better to start that did you really need another pair of shoes because that sentence always ends with uh yeah it matches the new purse Doe!!walked right into that one last nite.happy happy times my friends remember these days . you will look back and laugh ha ha :love1: love your corals for one they day they will grow up and be out in the big ocean. hmm or is that love your kids oh well you get it ...

If the "worst" thing I spend money on is coral, then I am good. Not only is it a hobby that (most of the time) relieves stress, but I also look at it as in investment. So long as everything thrives, LOL. I am just as bad as the OP. I spend hours per day hunting rare pieces, and looking at reef related articles and photos. I too am addicted. And I thoroughly enjoy it.

Yea were all sick! But it could be worse we could be hooked on crack or meth or something. My wife thinks i'm nut for the thousands upon thousands I spend on this stuff. I justify it by telling her I'll make the money back on frags but then I just spend that money on more tank related stuff.

six years later
six years later i am still using that line funny thing is i believed it when i started this hobby as a stress reliever but after my first run of ich killed all my fish i was stressed then after my first tank crash i got depressed the tank sprung a leak at night and lost thousands insurance doesn't cover live stock and didn't know i could have got all the equipment and tank replaced but never filed the claim , soo much for frags still working on building my first mother colony. the tank can be a stressor always having to do something tank related . be careful it took over a year to get over my first crash but I came back more determined then ever and with more money in hand look out LFS it's payday. Man my lfs guy had a taurus when i started going there he now drives A nice beemer hmmm.
