OK, my tank is in my basement. Also in my basement is a bathroom with a sink (with my RO connected) and shower. One day i was doing a water change. The normal procedure. Siphon out 5 gallons, dump it in the tub and repeat 3 times. Then fill a different bucket with fresh saltwater and lug it to the tank and dump it in. While i was slowely dumping the last 5 gal bucket in the tank my mom asked "why don't you just put a long tube on a powerhead in the tank, run it to the tub and pump 15 gallons out? Then put the powerhead in the rubbermaid tub and pump the new saltwater back in." I said, "i dunno. Thats a good idea, a real good idea." I think i'll try this the next time I do a water change. I just gotta find a powerful enough powerhead to pump the water the 30 or so ft. from the bathroom to the tank. I know it won't work for getting detrius out of the crevasses in the rock, but it will work for a normal water change. Why didn't I think of this earlier????
